Default Fair Purchase Price for a 2018 C4GTS Cab?

2018 GTS C4 Cab - 10,000 miles on the clock and fully loaded with a lot of cosmetic options with $176K MSRP but missing a lot of options I would have liked on this car. The seller is asking for $120K. What do you guys think?

I don't think a lot of these 'cosmetic' options add any value to the car. In fact, can't even select for them on Edmunds which gave a private sale value of about 105k.

I am with you, CarGurus is telling him, his vehicle is worth $128K! Given the market, I cant even justify $105K for the vehicle, TBH

That's a nice build - sounds like a really nice looking car.

@KOTB - What are the options you would like to have seen that this car does not have?

I'd say $105K-$110K tops if no CPO. There's a few CPO Coupes out there at Dealers in the $110-$120 range. Not sure if being a Cab adds or subtracts, I think it depends on what the buyer values more. Personally a non-sunroof coupe is worthe more than a Cab to me, but everyone is different.

I know cabs cost a lot more new but having owned a 991.1 cab, I can tell you that they aren't worth any more than a coupe when they are used. I have a friend who bought a beautiful 2018 Turbo S that was loaded with options but it had a black interior with black stitching and it had no pop to it - the deviated stitching which I presume is chalk or red plus extended leather must look really good. The only thing it is missing as far as I am concerned is the 18 way seats. Some folks view a axle lift as a must as well. So I would say that around $110 is a really good price. There are actually some new 2019s still out there but they are probably going to be quite a bit more.

It surprises me that (a) someone would spend so much money personalizing a car, (b) then attempt to sell it soon afterwards and (c) expect the buyer to pay extra for those personalized elements. Must have money to throw away.

I'd like to see some pics of the car, but personally I say you really cannot put a "book" value on such a car. Cosmetic options like it has can add a premium to car for the right buyer. There are so many plain Jane, boring interior cars out there that a buyer looking for something different does not have much to choose from if they want something that pops. And Cab buyers do not want a Coupe and vice-versa that means absolutely nothing.

Someone with an active Manheim account can give you the most recent auction pricing to better value this car.

But I would also agree that cosmetic options have little to no resale value. Unless you're personally in love with the build, I wouldn't pay a premium for it.

I wonder what this car would have been valued at in late 2019 and currently.

I recently purchased a brand new 2019 4GTS coupe. I can tell you the seller is asking too much. At the same dealer they had a 2018 4GTS targa. Beautiful with all the stitches and leather pieces. MSRP was 165k and they are asking 110k and CPO with 6k miles. I believe 105k would have gotten the deal done. Maybe private party is not under the same pressure but I know the dealer wants the car gone. My 4GTS is low and I would scrap badly except I have the front lift. It’s something I wouldn’t have order but thankful for it.

This does not seem accurate. The lowest price 991.2 Targa 4 GTS on cargurus is a '17 with 39k miles at 113,995. Maybe they have an 18 Targa 4S for 110k or it is a Targa 4 GTS with a Major accident.

A week ago I had a Porsche dealer offer me $130k for my manual 2019 Targa GTS with just under 6k miles. The MSRP was $165k but I added PCCBs and other extras but he told me I could take a few things off if I wanted them (not the PCCBs!). Granted that was if I traded it in but it goes to show that real nice cars are not plummeting as some here are saying.
