Let me start by apologizing on behalf of everyone, we are sorry that it takes so long (and requires so many words) to describe what you may be trying to ask and share.

We are sorry to have wasted your time.

are you talking about water pump? AFAIK they wont are unlikely to do preventative replacement under warranty, only if there are signs of leak, it seems some '17s dont encounter issues until 30k+ or none at all if lucky

He has 8 posts and assumes he is among enthusiast friends. I understood exactly what he was saying. Easy on him, this is a casual forum and people write in all styles and themes.

If there is nothing wrong, you are going to have a tough time having them look at it. The water pump is a bit of a bummer, but if it ain't broke, they won't fix it. Enjoy the car.

You question makes perfect sense, so I'm not sure why you should be treated poorly for it. There are third party German car specialists that offer "Warranty Pre-Expiration Checkups" if you want to be thorough. I recently took one of my Cayenne's into the dealer with a list of things to fix the month before the warranty expired, but they were things that I noticed on my own. Good luck!

Exactly, they may give everything a cursory look but that is it! If you have specific issues lay them out to the dealer! If you are so worried and love the warranty coverage just buy some additional warranty from Porsche, they will be happy to sell it to you as long as its purchased while the car is still under warranty!

I was taught: If you do not have anything nice to say - don't say anything at all. Don't be a jerk especially between us enthusiasts.

@barncobob - Let me apologize on behalf of all the other Rennlisters for the rude response you received.

The water pump on my 2017 991.2 was leaking a little pink fluid for more than a year before it was deemed bad enough to be replaced. It had roughly 14K miles on it, and fortunately for my wallet, it got bad enough to be replaced right at the end of the warranty.

There's a new problem with 2017 PCM4's (in-dash NAV and Entertainment system) that prevents them from updating maps "over the air" even though you have paid for a subscription for those updates for years through Porsche Connect along with an AT&T internet connection. I learned this after I was well into 2020 with only 2018 maps. This apparently does not affect 2018-2019 991.2 cars. So, the 2017 PCM4 has apparently been made "obsolete" for this service that was offered for sale which I purchased for years. And, it could affect every 2017 Porsche platform that has a PCM4. If you have a 2017 anything with a PCM4, you should check to see if you're getting map updates if you subscribed to them. Ultimately, this means that even though I received map updates from late 2016 until some time in 2018, they stopped working without any notification to me regarding a problem that Porsche AG knows about. Apparently the only way to update it now is through a part # that has to be ordered from the dealer and they have to have the car to update the maps. And, the part is not actually available......... Right now, this is like moving through a mine-field trying to get to end-of-job with something I've paid for, for three years. I'm being told the next step for me with the maps being available will probably not happen until sometime in August, 2020. What a cluster.

Ah- you're the Distracted Driver Victim. Tone excused until you replace your car. Best of luck with the hunt.
