One thing to keep in mind, with low mileage, low use cars, with short trips....the oil is accumulating moisture, so as oil is being consumed (200-400 mls) the void is being backfilled by water, and net-net the oil level stays the same.

 

What if we are bringing the car up to operating temp ~193 degree oil? I was under the impression moisture will burn off.

 

Well, pure water boils at 212. So ya gotta get above that at least. Often. And for extended periods.

 

correct, and the water molecules are bonded with other molecules so takes more heat. Always try to make my tripes at least 30 minutes or more.

note, water purification process takes water to steam and then cool it back to water.

 

Need to get the all the oil to circulate through the turbos at operating temperatures. The heat it encounters there will burn off any water in the oil.
