Default Please PM me if you are thinking of selling your 991.1S

Hello all,

As some of you may know my car was just totaled (semi-officially) 5 days ago

I am back in the market looking for a non-Black 991.1S with Sport PASM and rest of performance goodies.

If you have a qualifying 2012-2015 991.1 S, with sport PASM, please PM me.

Please do not post information or links in response to this thread, don't need to or want to get into a competition with other buyers or a back and forth with "experts" about pice and options.

I would prefer Sport PASM, Sport Chrono , Sport Exhaust (not a deal breaker), Sunroof in glass (not a deal breaker). PDK is OK and so is Manual

Would rather buy from a fellow rennlister if possible

TEst drove 991.2 Base (sport options) and 991.2 GTS.. they aren't for me.. I need the "slower" N/A engine and its howling flat 6

thank you all

Hi-

Really sorry to hear about your car!
I own a Viper Green 2015 C4S with 6,500 miles on it. Bought it new. PHENOMENAL car in every way (it is sunroof delete however).
Unfortunately I really don't have the time to drive it. Have considered putting it on the market but I don't really need the cash and am not interested in going thru the typical hassle of listing it publicly for sale. So when I saw your post I thought maybe I should PM you.

Anyway, here is a Rennlist link of when I originally bought the car. Great pics/info/comments

https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...esign-pkg.html

I'm a ten year plus Rennlist guy who is a major car enthusiast. The car is perfect. Garage kept (of course

If any interest please text me your E mail address and I will send you all of the paperwork I have on the car'

Thanks

Thanks for the compliment on the car.

Truthfully I thought I was PM-ing the OP last night but I had a few other things going on so it looks like I posted here by mistake! LOL!

Anyway, if any interest from anyone my text number is above. I am not actively marketing the car and do not plan to do so at the present time.

$90K is what I would want for the car. A very fair price for a super low mileage, one owner, paint to sample (PTS) car with a manual transmission and TONS of pricey options.

And thank you to Lexvan for "vouching" for me. His word is as good as gold in the Porsche world.

All PMs responded

Thank you , I am humbled by the PMs. Hope I can be in a car soon

Insurance company has made final decision and car is officially a total loss. The value offered is beyond ridiculous (several thousands less than what I paid 2.5 months ago) but life happens

Still fighting with them but ready to move on mentally and find my next car

Don't take their offer as a final offer push back on them pretty hard. It was their driver that screwed up not you. Push to recoup sales tax and use tax because you didn't have this thing very long and that is going to be another expense for you.

Thank you

I finally accepted their offer after almost a week of fighting the good fight. I also involved a private valuation firm and paid them out of pocket to fight the insurance company. Long story short, I paid mid to high $60k for my 991.1S with all the best options and mere 28K miles just 3 months ago.. exactly before corona.... and even the private valuation company wasn't able to find enough data to fight the offer by insurance company. The more both companies tried to prove each other wrong, the more they ended up with similar data. Car prices for y particular model and car were proven tp be down more than 12%.. resulting in a close to $7k loss for me .

I am now at a cross roads, accept the loss or spend even more money to go after the 3rd party.

If the data they are presenting is accurate then shouldn’t you be able to get ‘back to where you were’ with the amount they paid you? So goes the theory, anyway.

I have to imagine there are deals out there given the situation we are all in. As a cash buyer, good-to-go, on the spot......you are in a good negotiating position.

Just trying to spin the positive out of a crappy situation :-)

This must be unbelievably frustrating. Here's what I'd say: 1) Negligence shouldn't cause you a loss - it wasn't an "accident" so much as act of negligence. 2) Your car is worth what you bought it for. The current market values shouldn't need to matter to you. You weren't trying to sell your car. 3) I would look into taking legal action against the insurance company or, if possible, the driver based upon negligence or property damage. It's not your fault that his insurance company is artificially devaluing your vehicle. You weren't looking to sell it at the time, therefore market value shouldn't apply (I realize they base everything on "fair market value" etc). Bottom line, negligence is causing you a loss.

So, I'd offer them two options: A) Deliver me a car of my year or newer, with the same miles or less, with the same options or more. B) Pay me what I paid. Since insurance companies seem to be doing better vis a vis Covid / reduced driving risk, they should be able to pony up.
