Default Addiction

Finished washing, polishing and waxing ...over the past 6 weeks or so I've developed a serious car cleaning addiction. A little dust? Oh, by all means, wash, polish and wax. Wheels look a tiny bit dusty...clean the entire car. I'm eventually going to have to...work..

Seriously with all of the suffering, death and sacrifice in our country and the world... I've given up very little.

Stay safe, stay home, mask it or casket. Don't endanger an essential person (doc, nurse, ambulance driver, police officer, grocery worker) by venturing out until tests and tracing in place.

You would get along well with a black car! I, too, have been doing excess detailing. I even cleaned the wheel well area with soap and water. Five years of grunge now gone! I didn't know the fender wells were painted the same color as the exterior since I bought mine used and dirty!

I feel very unworthy of my car which only sees car washes and (annual) spring detailing.

My routine now is to go for a drive around 4pm. The weather has been spectacular and the eye candy is amazing. Hot Momma’s everywhere walking, walking dogs, pushing baby carriages and jogging. Plus the roads are empty so the driving is more enjoyable. Better than watching Netflix.

I was doing that here in the Houston area, but traffic now in the afternoon seems basically back to normal. I got spoiled and now I'm cranky about it.

I clean my 991.2 often. Wheels are cleaned every time I drive it. It’s a therapy of sorts. Actually cleaned the whitewalls on my outdoor grill last week. Come on vaccine.

Honestly, this post is so refreshing. After all the insanity, virus denying, suppression of facts. I too have been cleaning my car as means of escape.
I too have given up a little. And I too believe it's mask it or casket. Wishing you and your family well OP. And the rest of you too. Whatever you do, don't venture into the politics and controversy section of this website. I made that mistake. It's dark there.

OP - clear out some of the overhanging branches. And clean the house windows!! I can hear my own wife yelling about the same + washing the vinyl siding.
Oh and if you run out things to clean, pop open the engine bay. A world of possibilities awaits!

Ask me how I know...

I was expecting this thread to be about waking up and craving a drive, trying to work from home and craving a drive, sitting in the garage in ecstasy after the drive, leaving the garage and looking back at the car in wonder...
