Get the Targa, you'll love it!

I have only owned Porsche Targa's. 914's when I was young and now 911's.

There really is no comparison from a cab to a Targa, they are completely different with the exception of the mechanical top down mechanisms (talking late model Targas).

The Targa always draws attention, the cab is just a convertible 911--if you like convertibles, go for the cab.

Cabs are not taken seriously as track cars whereas the Targa has an 'in-your-face' roll-bar--that is what gives them their mystique and novelty amongst 911s.

A Targa with the windows up is an all-season top-down ride. In winter, you blast the heat and in summer the AC.

Everyone loves the 'magic trick'.

Default Targa looks better

IMO verts to.me scream 80s while targas are timeless. Targa has built in roll bar and safe in catstrophic crash. These cars go fast.

Easy to hit 600hp with the 991.2, makes them very fast and timeless

I have had a convertible for many years, can't imagine being without one. Wind noise, buffeting and other inconveniences are part of the convertible experience. You either love it, or you don't. To me, a sports car has always been a small roadster.

BWWAHAaaaaa!!! That's the best statement I've read all week, obviously posted by someone who has never made it out of the "C" group.

THIS is what a serious track car looks like, and it ain't no Targa.

You do know that the Cabriolets has safety pop-up bars which act like a roll bar, just because you don't see them doesn't mean the car is unsafe. Glad I don't track mine any way

I heard the cabs are super slow too, which is great for me as I have a problem with my right foot

That's a real ugly pic but thanks

lol, What are the chances of a Targa flipping over and not break it's rear window?

As I recall in this case, the guy was rear ended and the rear of the car was lifted off the ground just enough to have the system engage, so was not even a rollover, which is why the top looks so nice. System must engage at a certain lift angle off ground vs level. Can you imagine what it would be like if you were seated in the back seat when the pyrotechnics to fire those bars occurred. New shorts would be needed for sure. ;-)

This is why at the track when a Student shows up with a convertible that has pop ups, we insist they run with the top down, regardless of the weather. A car going aggressively over the curbing can get slightly airborne and they will fire off.
