Default Getting a 991.2 on Friday

Picking up my first Porsche, a 2017 911 Carrera Cabriolet with just over 3K miles and its a CPO. I recognize that there is much to learn about this car, and just a short amount of time before it's ready. I haven't had much interaction with the dealer due to Covid19, and TBH, I really appreciate the simplicity of the transaction so far. Having said that, its been a while since I've bought a used car, no-less a Porsche. What should I know, and what would a more experienced person be looking for or asking the dealer about before driving off of the lot?

Thank you!

If it's a manual, the DME(computer) can be checked to see if there were any over-revs. And ask to see if the water pump was replaced. Leakly water pumps are common.

Thank you @spdracerut ! Its a PDK, does the DME report matter in that case? Also, this was the dealers showroom floor model, evidently not sold to a person. Given that, they should have full service records... I'll ask about the water pump, or any other repairs for that matter, great point!

congrats post some pics when you get it, just curious how does the car rack up 3k miles if never sold, is it an executive demo vehicle or something?

A 2017 maintained to Porsche standards should have had a few oil changes based years. Ask about water pump, change over valves(unlikely), any recalls. A DME over rev report could be easy to get. Someone drove it and the demos are driven hard at times and not always warmed up. They can tell you how many times the car has been launched with launch control. Ask if there has been any body damage. I guess all of this should have been asked prior to buying the car, but that’s just me. Good luck with the sale and enjoy!

Are you able to have a PPI done? Some dealers are jerks about it, others happy to accommodate. I would have one done for sure. Will answer a lot of questions you didn't even know to ask!

Have you already committed to the deal or are you asking what to look for before signing on the dotted line?

Low miles and CPOd, don’t worry about a thing. Only issue that may come up is the water pump. Ask about it, but don’t even worry either way. Enjoy

seems like it was an executive demo, but mostly sat on the showroom floor indoors. Thank you for your response.

Its a bit of both. While I have the dealers attention, what else should I be asking about before I sign and drive. Thank you for your response.

Water pump seems to be the reoccurring concern, thank you for raising that to my attention.
