Default Wheel Question

I have the Sport Techno’s and looking to change it up a bit....looking at Brixton and BC. The Techno rears are 11.5” wide ET68 but it seems that all the wheels I’ve seen are either 11 or 12 inch. I know that the ETs are different to flush with the fender, but running 305s on 11”, is that possible, or more importantly, safe?

The plan is to refinish the Techno’s and store them BTW as I still like the look...maybe it’s COVID. I’m doing the same with the PSE, looking for a little “Soul”!

I’m not sure about Brixton, but I know BC Forged lets you get custom sizes, so you could get a 11.5” rear with a slightly more aggressive offset setup. I worked with Paul from PK Auto to get my previous 991.1 a set of BC Forged, which by the way are great wheels. Reach out to him and ask, he will make sure to answer any of your questions. Also, trust me on this, keep the PSE and get the SOUL longtube headers, w/ high flow cats. Amazing sound!!

crappy cell quality video, but a quick clip of the SOUL headers I had on the 991.1 S

Thanks for the info on PK....also, I would prefer to do the entire exhaust, headers, PSE, but in CA I’m just asking for issues with smog inspection.

BC Forged Wheels are great, had them on my last car.

I also have the Soul sport cats on order

Wish I could find someone that could hook me up with Techart stuff, it's very expensive

Regarding your question on wheel sizes though; rears vary between 11.5 and 12 (possible even 11?) with trim levels and wheel styles, but they all come mounted with 305s as far as I know (at least both my Carrera S rears for the 991.1 and GTS rears for 991.2 came this way). So even though a set of customs never hurt (other than your wallet) you don’t need to stick with 11.5. ET will of course vary with dimensions...

I live in CA, too. Would never do headers. Tubi style cat back is amazing sound upgrade.

FWIW Michelin gives a wheel width range of 10.5-11.5" for the 305/30ZR20, the size of the tire is measured on a 11" wheel. Pirelli the same.

Certainly now that KA is $50Bill in the hole....everything will be just that much more inspected. Of course they never had a $21Bill surplus either, not with a $2Trill underfunded State pension. However that common core math says otherwise...

Yes, I just wanted to make sure 11” with 305s wasn’t crossing the beams.

I guess my question would be why do you want to go to 11s if you have 11.5 STs? Find an 11.5 aftermarket wheel.

I love the look of HREs. Thoughts on those?

Yeah, lots of people have them, I didn’t want to spend $8k on new shoes. Was even thinking of going 12” if it would fit.

Thanks yet again to John at Soul...you answered questions and were willing to call the manufacturer for me. In the end I went with Brixton via Soul.

John, keep the fenders on and don’t exceed your talent on the track!

Very nice! I went down to an 11 inch wide wheel on my hre wheels from the stock 11.5 and used a 305 tire on both. No issues and saves a bit of weight in my case. I agree with you on not spending 8k on wheels!
