Spoiler on 991 C2
Always thought the automatically deployed spoiler was a neat or cool feature. While I couldn't see it without cranking the mirror around I knew it was there.
Following a minor routine maintenance at the dealer (air filter and oil change) I saw that it would not fully retract. Visited the dealer (in mask and gloves) and sat around far away from anyone. Seems that a small plastic spring retainer broke. You say, small plastic, must be easily and cheaply fixed? You would be wrong unless you were Mike Bloomberg. The dealer graciously volunteered to comp the $2500 part (it's the entire assembly sans painted part) and labor when PCNA refused to extend the warranty. Part has been ordered and I'll stop by whenever the all season tiires show up. the car has the spoiler deployed in the sunroof open (full deployment) position - I got a brief warning message when I exceeded 80 mph on the highway but could not focus (I'm farsighted) fast enough to read it. Anyone know what that message could be? I suspect it was saying "retract the spoiler, this is not a WRX!"
