Fixed headlight. Gap at the bottom?

Fixed headlight. Gap at the bottom?
I fixed my headlight on my 991.2 because the headlight popped forward. The headlight was not secured in the pins in the back of the headlight.
The question I have, should there be a gap at the bottom of the headlight to the body? The gasket seals everywhere except at the bottom.

They look the same and only one was loose. I went to the Porsche dealer tonight and they had two 991.2 in their lot and both had the gap at the bottom of the light. could stick 1/16 inch under each as if a gasket is missing. I looked at a 992 and it was tight all the way around. Seems like a natural water trap on a 991.

How long did it take for you to remove the bumper?

I'll get a picture tomorrow. You can stick something between the headlight and the fender on the bottom of the headlight. Visually it looks ok and it looks sealed. I checked two other 991.2 and they were the same. I could fit the bow of my glasses underneath the headlight on mine and the other two cars. So maybe 1/16 space.

The paper pad is over 1/16 inch. It slides in until it hits the light housing. The other two 991.2 I checked had bigger gaps on both headlights. Is this normal or is a gasket missing?

Normal. I believe there is actually a factory manual specific to measuring body gaps. I'll see if I can find it today and post if I see anything about this particular gap. But you should be comfortable that this is normal as long as assembly doesn't seem loose. When you have the headlight out you will notice the rubber gasket is only surrounding the upper part of the lens cover, and not the very bottom-edge. This allows airflow (and yes, water) under the headlight which exists out somewhere past that point. Each 991 I've had has similar "gap". I can't speak for the 992's.
