Default Consequences of OEM modifications - 991.1 GTS

Hello,

I picked up a 991.1 GTS a little over a month ago and I love the car. Super excited!

I wasn't able to find a 991.1 with all the OEM options I wanted and I'm curious, what are the consequences to the value of my car if I decide to add these options now? For example, if I add the aerokit wing to the car, is it going to devalue the car significantly and will I need to remove it when the time comes to trade the car back to a Porsche dealer in a few years?

Cheers!

PS: PDK and NA rule all ;-)

IMO, do what you want to the car. Adding Aerokit is expensive but probably doesn't devalue the car at all. It's your car, do what you want with it.

Sticking with tasteful OEM additions or known brands for aftermarket parts you should be good. Just so they are tastefully done.

Cars are depreciating assets. Buy, Mod, Drive, and enjoy.

Adding OEM parts will not hurt your value at all. But you also have an option to take them out and re-sell to get some money back when it's time to move on.

I've been keeping all of my original parts listed on my build sheet when I buy something different. That way, when I'm ready to sell, if it's important to the buyer to have the car match the build sheet, I can replace everything back to original. I can also sell whichever parts aren't on the car or add them into the deal for extra money.

Assuming it's reversible, it won't effect the value at all, especially with OEM parts or parts made my an OEM like if you go with higher end bilsteins etc.

Very little affect and it might actually allow you to make a few extra bucks if someone likes what you did, and OEM mods are usually not going to cause the value to drop. These cars are way too new for values to be affected unless some "purist" is looking for one, and there are so many bone-stock cars on the market at any given time they can just look for one of those. Personally, IDGAF what someone else thinks about my car since I do not care about resale value, just the smile I get when I see and drive it.

OEM stuff or high quality aftermarket stuff like carbon interior trim is not going to be a problem and you can always go back to stock.

Essentially they wont hurt the resale or help...but if done right could make your car stand out above other cars, assuming the buyer values that stuff.

Go for it friend and make that 911 yours in so many unique ways. Just don’t go CHEAP with Chinese knock off parts, quality mods are usually welcome to many knowledge buyers. Keep the OEM parts in case you want to return back to original and resale your mods. Exhaust, aerokit, and tune (good tuner) are usually all you really need with 911.
I used to mods all my 911 for my personal taste and never have problem selling it. However, I keep it clean and simple and reversible.
