was on the same boat several months ago - def get CPO (maybe offer at their cost), tires should be fine since the car has less than 100mi. The market is a bit soft so you might be able to push a bit more than normal

After testing driving a 992, I purchased a new leftover 2019 991.2. All personal preference. Buy what you like, not what is the absolute best choice concerning trade-in.

Im going through this now on a leftover 2019 (well optioned) GTS..right now its offered at 7.5% off MSRP..im pushing for 12-15%..car has been on the lot 6 months. Dealership keeps telling me its priced aggressively but I dont agree..I love the options/color. Very tough decision to go with the 991.2 or wait 9 months for the “leftover” 992’s to go on sale..oh what to do!

In September I custom ordered a 992.2 targa (November 2019 build). Got 7.5% off MSRP as a repeat/loyal customer. So on a car thats been sitting... I think 10-15% is not out of the realm....

Does anyone here live by the law of "Never buy the first year of a new car?"

  1. Changing oil immediately (since it's been over a year from production date)
  2. Tire condition
  3. Battery condition
  4. Brake condition
Warranty started at the end of 2019, so it is being discounted to reflect that. Does this mean I can request (and pay for) CPO warranty on this car?
Thanks in advance!
CPO is not allowed on a new title Porsche, unless it has at least 1000 miles.
Maintenance issue is easily solved by negotiating first two maintenances, if a local dealer. If not from a local dealer, negotiate a couple thou $ extra to cover extra maintenance costs.

thats incorrect. My car is a good example. It was CPOed before I took delivery with 40 miles on the clock. Never titled.

Yes, the oxygen in the air reacts with the oil and causes a chemical breakdown. The result, among other problems, is that the oil loses its effectiveness.
What's more, there have been some oil filters that begin to degrade after long-term exposure (greater than one year) to synthetic oil.

I have a 2012 1/2 991.1 manual I purchased new ... it was the first batch of manuals for the 991 and it has been the most reliable car ... I think it had one or possible two non scheduled maintenance services in the almost 8 years of ownership.

I bought the first year of the 991.2 back in June 2016. Big change to the 3 liter twin turbo engine. Only issue so far was replacing the water pump and overflow tank, and a few minor recalls. The car never left me stranded. Just did a spirited backroads drive in sport+ mode yesterday and.....WOW. Also I have bought a lot of first year motorcycles with no major problems. Maybe I am just lucky.

Exactly what I did. I didn't even have to drive it. When I saw the pictures coming in I was hoping they weren't as bad... however It was actually worse in person. The interior is lost between the Jupiter 2 and a 80's computer. Love my 2019 991.2 Targa!!

OP, have you reached a deal? I'm on a very similar boat. I was just about to buy a CPO 2017 991.2 S but then just saw a 2019 991.2 S leftover w perfect (for me) options. I too don't care for the 992. MSRP is $137k and they're not advertising any discounts online. I'm thinking to offer 20% off and settle for 18% off with an oil change?
