So you want your 991.1 PDK shifter to work the "proper" way...

I'm glad there are options to "reverse" whatever the hell that means.
In my simple mind, there's nothing "wrong" with gears 1,3,5 vs 2,4,6 in a traditional manual gearbox. Up or downshifting could go either way so I don't find either option more appropriate than the other.
In fact, and combined with the steering paddles, I find great uniformity in pushing forward (upshifts) vs pulling back (downshifts).
To each their own...

I designed a kickdown eliminator that can be 3D printed. You just pop out the button under the accelerator pedal and pop in the fixed one. No wiring is involved. And no problem to revert back to the original whenever you want. I know it fits the 2013 991.1 C2S. Not sure about any other models. If you would like the CAD file just pm me.

Nooo, you can't with a half lock of steering, the paddles are on the wheel on Porsche so you have the wrong paddle under your hand, if you can even find it. I use the shifter a few times a day and paddles the rest of the time. Try that in your 992. Good luck with the change OP.

Sorry to revive an old thread but wondering if there’sa solid fix to the shift direction. I want a 991.1 tts but can’t stand how the shifter is backwards. Also don’t want to ship my unit to Germany.

I have the 991.2 cover plate from my 2017 Carrera S. The shift direction on the plate is (+) rearward, (–) forward. Cover Plate is mint, removed at 5000 miles to install leather shift boot. Will sell for $150.

I too would be very interested to know total cost and reliability of this mod. I agree, it is annoying that all other brands (and later Porsche's) work properly.

"if you track your car - kick down disable is a must have IMO to avoid those nasty (down) shifts as you hit the gas on apex exit."
I found this to be true at Laguna Seca Raceway. I wasn't aware that kick down could be disabled.

Right or wrong, I find it more intuitive to push forward to upshift and pull back to downshift. Might be because my first car that had a manual-automatic was an E60 BMW that worked the same way. I later had an F10 BMW that "corrected" the movement to the way this thread claims it should be. It drove me crazy and I never used it.
It would be easy enough to make it configurable to the driver's preference. I'm typing this post using a computer that will allow me to configure the effect of the scroll wheel on my mouse in one direction or the other, it's no different.
