I think your depreciation estimates are very low. You are buying retail but are going to have to sell at nearly wholesale in order to move it. And you are nuts to pay all that sales tax and then walk away in October.

Ha I somewhat agree.

On the white carrera, the dealer showed me their purchase at wholesale was $77k. So getting a small markup. It only has 7k miles on it. But your point is more than well taken.

Here is a CPO in Manhattan I’m looking at now as well...

https://www.manhattanmotorcarsporsch...ab29948s730599

22k miles, CPO, manual 4S for $53k. Maybe a better decision to do this, upgrade the infotainment with Sony aftermarket, and call it a day?

Its just not the model years or color combo I’m really interested in, as I think the interior is dated and basic, but it’s 50% of the cost assuming I can sell it for $45k. Manual 4S with decently low miles should move. Especially CPO from Porsche.

Maybe I do a really nice red car wrap to get my red fix in? I’ve always owned black cars (6 of them), and 1 laguna seca blue e46 M3 (don’t get me started on that POS).

Just so you know that GTS was a previous PSDS car (Porsche Sport Driving School). There are about 5 of those exact same spec cars floating around for sale right now.

People have mixed feelings on buying one of those. There are several threads on these and PEC cars within the past few weeks.

You will for sure want to have the PCCBs measured. One that I looked at had 60-70% rotor wear with only 11k miles on it.

You’re a life saver. Didn’t want to bring it up, but now it’s just relevant; my M3 back in the day was tracked and driven hard. Had a PPI done, some items but nothing shocking. 6,000 miles later and I need a brand new engine ($15k) and the SMG started sliding into neutral while driving (sketch). Sold the car without an engine for $13k, bought for $22k a couple months prior. Car had 45k miles.

good point. Also, wouldn’t that void the warranty? Porsche obviously knows it’s been beaten up

Agree that your cost of ownership will be higher than you state. When you have your fire sale in October you are selling the car at wholesale.....so up those numbers.

Did you look into the Porsche rental program they announced recently? Is that an option?

Have not - was at the dealer 3 days ago discussing this exact predicament and they never mentioned anything about that.

I have found that the KKB and such book prices are very high when trading or selling Dealers go by auction prices.

It does not void the warranty. The cars aren't "beaten up", they are driven vigorously day in and day out, but they are also meticulously maintained by Porsche USA.

I am just curious how ShaunP knows it is a PSDS car?

I’m thinking GTS, assuming that one is in pristine condition. Screw it.

Lol, don't kid yourself, 18 GTS for 103K is not in pristine condition.
