Default Mods: Any plans to separate 991.1 and 991.2 sub-forums?

Just a thought..

Us old timers with our old and outdated engines and cars COULD benefit from a 991.1 / 991.2 separation via subforums.

IMHO, for the first time ever, The .2 cars are so entirely different in Ethos and DNA (and their subsequent issues and conversations) that we could surely benefit from sub-forums.

Wonder if others feel the same way.

Please give it a consideration

Thank you

Has been discussed years ago and mods decided not to separate.

I disagree. They are the essentially the same car.

interesting take..

may be I feel this way because a good majority of conversations regarding performance, maint and Mods aren't at all transferable to .1 cars.

did not realize this was discussed years ago..

They didn't separate the 997.1 from 997.2 cars and they wont separate the 991.1 and 991.2 cars...

Nothing new

and proves I have owned too many 911's..... or maybe I haven't?

Besides all that TURBO envy i went from a 991.1 S to a 991.2 S lol

Clearly NA vs TT makes a big difference. Rest of the car is essentially the same outside of PCM. It’s nice to know what issues are arising in other models years like creaks, cosmetic mods, maintenance. So of this crosses over. I would miss the NA folks stating that the 991.1 is the last of the true 911 since the exhaust noise is divine.....

As a newcomer, it's a bit harder for me to dig into specific mods & maintenance information regarding the .1 since it's mixed into the same information for .2. Classic noise vs signal issue.

Not the end of the world, but would greatly improve usability.

991.1 NA to 991.2 FI was a pretty significant change. Will we have a separate 992 forum for the TT/TTS like we have for the other Turbo 911s? That seems almost silly. And where will the eventual hybrid 911 wind up? There's no right answer, but there is such a thing as too many forums.

I've owned both 991.1 and 991.2 and have been active on the 991 Board during both ownerships.
I'd vote to separate them.

Since it was not split in 2016 when the 2017 991.2 debuted, it seems that the decision has been made.

It's never too late to improve our community.

I also think the subject matter of 991.2 threads does not apply to most 991.1 owners. I'd support separation.
