Default 32k miles but 4 yrs out Service interval

I did a quick search but did not find the answer to my question:
2016 991.1 GTS with approx 32k miles but coming up on 4 yrs of driving (daily driver and about 1 DE event/yr). Per the service manual, car needs the 40k service so when I called the dealer to schedule, they said that car only needs the annual oil/filter change with multipoint inspection and to wait until car hits 40k miles for the 4 yrs major service. That would fall approx in 1 more year given my typical usage.
Any thoughts?
I was considering doing my own oil change but have not yet done so on this car; alternative would be to take to local indy mechanic.

I truly don't think it really matters to wait an additional 8K miles before you do the 40K service but go ahead and do your oil change.

If you are going to get your hands dirty changing your own oil...... to do the 40K service isn't that difficult....... plus there are plenty of DIY's floating around.

I wouldn't even call the 40k a major service, it's just oil change, air filter, and spark plugs no?

I believe Porsche recommends oil change every 10k miles. If you did one recently you can wait until you hit 40k. However, changing the air/polen filters and spark plugs are not mileage depending, they are time depending. I only drive 5k miles a year so I did my 4yr service in 2018 at around 20k miles (I have a 2014 C2).

Good thing is all this can be done DIY and for under $300. Just search the forums and buy what you need at FCPeuro.

I have a '16 with 26k. We just did the 40k service just because it's 4 years old now. Not a big deal. Spark plugs, air filters, brake bleed, cabin filters, visual inspection. Even if just for peace of mind, I say do it.
P. S.. It was a DIY also

It's 40K miles or 4 years whichever first.

The 4 years or 40,000 on spark plugs is important. It’s not that the plugs go bad BUT it’s that plugs left in place too long can seize and possibly not come out .... then it gets expensive. Also while changing the plugs is a good time to inspect the coil pacs to ensure there are no cracks etc . Actually cheap insurance in the long run

Thanks for the insight all.
I will go ahead with the 4 yr major service- not sure if I want to tackle it so will take to my local Indy mechanic.
