Default Bulb table?

Is there a comprehensive list or table somewhere that shows the various bulb types used in the 991.1? I checked the owner's manual, shop manual and parts list and couldn't find one. Google wasn't any help either.

So many are LED now. Maybe that's why? Which one do you need?

I was thinking of switching my yellow side markers to clear, and I saw that clears are available with either incandescent bulbs or LEDs (for twice the price). I wondered what type the incandescents were. Otherwise, I don't need to replace any of them now -- I just wanted the info for future reference and help with possible upgrades.

The incandescent ones have a yellow egg yolk look to it when turned on. Looks lousy. Don't know why the even make them.

Get the LED ones - 100% clean look.

You can thank me later.

What about switching out the yellow bulbs in the incandescents with aftermarket LEDs? That would save an easy $100 vs. the factory LED side markers.

Sorry, the LED bulb is part of the lens.

Yes, but what about the yellow incandescent bulbs that are used in the non-LED side markers -- are they somehow part of the lens too or are they a standard replaceable auto bulb? LED replacements exist for many standard auto bulbs.

It's not just the bulb difference... The 991.2 side markers are flush mounts whereas the 991.1 protrude. My 991.1 came with the clear side markers and I still swapped those for the led ones, was my first mod. They look so much better

Not sure what you mean by "protrude". The side markers on my 2016 GTS look pretty flush to me, although they are very yellow. Clear or smoke might look better.

Yours are the newer "flush" amber ones - I'll see if I can dig up a pic of the older ones

I have the clear side markers on mine but I want a clear bulb as well since they still have an amber bulb - anyone know if the ROW clear ones have clear bulbs?

You mean clear bulb that come on amber? I think US law mandates amber light side markers when they are on.

No, clear bulb for use with my clear lens, and yes, I realize that it is not legal in the US.

If your markers have amber incandescent bulbs, I think you could replace those bulbs with type 2821 amber LED bulbs. They still have a bit of amber that might show through the clear lens when the lights are off, but a lot less than the original bulbs. Or just get clear #2821 incandescents and be an outlaw.
