Default 991.2 oil consumption again

Has anyone ever had to get this "fixed" if so tell me how it went. I have not had my car long enough to track the mileage vs consumption yet. I added a qt last time I was here at Christmas and its now at the bottom of the safe range in less that 1000 miles. I will start tracking it closely but was wondering if it was ever an issue that required repair and if so what was done.

Seems high assuming you have not put many miles on it. I recently passed the 1 year mark on mine and did not burn any, based on the display.

And if you tune it you may need to bring a quart along for each drive!

If you were at the full mark, you could just be a drop above the needed amount to register. But if you count the number of bars and @ 200ml per bar, you can track the drop in ml. The same could be said about the lowest bar. If you are in the min bar, you could just have crossed that threshold but tracking the volume loss should be reasonably easy.

The dealer fills that oil with their PIWIS system that gives them direct and exact read outs. Maybe discuss with the dealer and top off with the them to the full mark and then come back when it drops to the min. They should be able to measure the net change.

Have you noticed any oil on the ground? In the coolant system?

What year and model are you driving? Did you bumpy this new? What was your break in process?

It has been reported that 1qt/1000 miles would be termed acceptable by the service department. Clearly, there is nothing acceptable about this.

about 14700 miles
Cancel that.it seems I need to learn how to read the display

Guess I have no excuse now not to proceed with Cobb stages,
Car is supposed be picked up by Naples Porsche tomorrow for Water pump replacement but when I asked them if they had the part they ghosted me so we shall see.
Once I get it back I will move forward with the Cobb

D'OH! That was a good thing to be wrong about! And yes, time to tune away Bill!

By the way Jack, my dealer filled my oil this past time quart by quart since I had them use 5/50, but in general you are correct when 0/40 is used.

Went for an oil change at the dealer on my 17 991.2 6500 miles They noticed a slight oil leak at the valve cover gasket . They pulled up a Porsche recall for this.

They said is wasnt a gasket as we know it. Its a gel type gasket. The main deal was that they had to drop the engine which made me concerned, I was told its a common practice and is no big deal which it wasnt.

What is the general behavior with the .2 - do some people experience some oil burn or is it expected that the oil level should not drop at all or only minimally?
