RWD 991 in Snow

I ran Alpins on my '15 TT and have Sottozeros on this C4. There were no Alpins available when I purchased this past Fall. They both did/do fine in poor road conditions. I make a point of driving my car at least once a week to keep things moving around and the gasoline flowing. I've never had an issue. Sottozeros on my DD S550 and Blizzaks on the Tundra for when it's really bad out.
My father drove Beetles in the '50s and '60s in Western PA, making house calls every day. I don't think he ever got stuck but did have to put chains on a few times.

I currently have some winter tires on a set of 20” and I want to go down to 19”.

I live in the North and just went through weather of -45c, or -49 freedom units for a sustained 1.5 weeks last week.
Snowfall & ice is common up 6 inches at a time, or more. Anyway, with proper tires, 991.2 RWD for me does great. It's shocking how good it is for traction. But everything else like braking, turning, etc., that all depends on the quality of your Winter tires.

I too am in downtown Seattle. The winter conditions on the many hills are no match for the summer tires. Now with winter tires, that's a different matter.
Either way the downtown streets are like driving in a third world country. The amount of potholes, uneven payment and broken concrete that never gets repaired is astounding.

They need to quit dicking around with *** fault and concrete this place
The breathing snowflakes here have spent more on idiotic bike lane "upgrades" before just maintaining current roads.

I have a set of four of these wheels that I purchased as part of a Tire Rack winter wheel/tire package for my 2013 C2 base. I also used them for three winters on my 2017 C2S. I am not using them on my current 2019 C4S because I now have a Porsche winter wheel/tire package for it. Although the rear offsets were not exactly correct for the 2017 C2S, they seemed to work fine with 295 rear tires.
I plan to list the wheels next fall when people are usually preparing for the coming winter. In the meantime. if anyone is interested in purchasing the wheels at an attractive price, PM me for details. I also have both 991.1 and 991.2 tpms sensors to go with them.

I’m a wild guy but it’s my first winter with my 991 GT3(first time Porsche owner). Got home from my trip from Japan and really missed my car, of course snowing in NJ. Welp still drove the car on cup2 summer tires, did pretty damn good if you ask me. Had about 1-2” on the ground, no spinning unless I punched it, just rolling off the brake at lights. With the proper tire I can see myself enjoying it more in the snow to be honest, car felt solid. My drive way has a decent incline and traction control did it’s thing and got me all the way up, impressed again.

I took it for a little spin, it’s the chance we take I guess, I was itching, I rented a new Supra while i was out there in hopes of some enjoyment, but I have been spoiled by this car, I was miserable driving that car. Went around town for the fix and back in the garage. All is well!
