Lol thought I was immune from the 2017 water pump fail. Sad that the cpo dealer didn't get that done when they had the car. 14k miles

Unfortunately, no surprise. If you were expecting that the dealer did all the things on the checklist and checked your car with a fine tooth comb, think again. Dealer does a quick look over, washes the car, and tries to make it look as pretty as possible. What appears on the piece of paper and what they actually do are two different things. Change oil? Probably not. Check fluids? Nah. Check under car for leaks? You kidding?

Have seen many many posts where dealers failed to do many things the paper said they did. Joke.

The only good t thing about CPO is the extended warranty.

Note: The lack of thorough inspection of pre-owned cars is not limited to Porsche. All dealers do a sorry *** job of pre-owned inspection. They need to get the car out on the lot to sell asap.

Yeah, a few hundred miles in and I had the low oil warning so your right about oil change and probably everything else you wrote.

I wouldn't necessarily blame the dealer on this one. The water pump can look perfectly fine one minute and start leaking the next. There is no advance notice. For instance, I had the two year service done last month. No issues. Within two weeks I noticed fluid on the garage floor. Sure enough, the dreaded water pump failure. The repair was done in one day under warranty. Hey, stuff happens. Get it fixed and move on.

On a better note, let us know how the cats come out.

Still got about an hour and a half before it's done. I'll have to make arrangements to get after the pump in a couple weeks

Quote - post in the other thread what water pump part number they install when you do - looks like there have been several different ones recently.
