To make the change to PSI, it's in your multi function screen selections.

Maybe you should go test drive another one back to back with yours to see the difference, maybe there is another forum member nearby with a similar setup? broken wheel bearings have a distinctive sound, and from my experience you can hear it more when on the highway and you let go of the gas. For what it's worth the 991 is noisy regardless on the highway. at low speed you hear the exhaust, that is why it is less noticeable. I honestly find the Burmeister to be amazing, but with all the road noise in this car it's a bit useless. I believe the rear tires are wider than a cayman, and that alone will create more road noise. The 997 was even worse. I couldn't even entertain the idea of doing a road trip in one, I still find the 991 road noise acceptable, but it's still not a quiet car by any stretch.

There is no change in noise if I steer side to side quickly. Only thing that brings it down is speeding down.
Engine is in a different place, different weight distribution.

If the noise does not change with steering input then chances are there is nothing wrong mechanically, tires are just noisy. Try adjusting pressures lower and higher.

Here, made a video for you guys. SOUNDS a lot louder in person - frequency of the humming increases significantly as car gains speed. It does sound like bad worn out tires BUT my tires are brand new - Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 N1 (N-spec).

Sounds like tire noise to me - what tire pressure are you running?

Pressures are high - around 37 to 42 PSI - haven't had time to adjust yet; you're right, this could be the culprit. But from my experience, this is too loud to be a pressure issue alone - doesn't fit the picture. And I've owned few sports cars - driven them in various weather conditions with all sorts of tires.

Where do you live? There is probably a Rennlister close by that can take you out in their 991. I take it you're not in Florida given the temperatures you're talking about.
My car is sports car loud, but not at all annoying at any speed.

Hope you find the issue and i'ts not too bad.

I live in Toronto, Canada. I drove a 991.1 few months ago, in almost the same spec as mine minus PASM (my car has it). This is definitely not normal.

I hope the same, thanks!

You might also want to have the alignment checked. A bad alignment could cause the rears to be toed out and making that noise.

Just listened to the video and my 2012 1/2 991S with sports exhaust does not sound like that plus you had a Cayman so you are used to the sports car noises, I would go the dealer and have it checked out. Something does not sound right.

I agree with you - it is not normal. Will report back on Monday - taking it to my local tuner shop I use for service and mods.
