Default Which 991.2 coding software?

I'm looking to code the shortcut key on my multifunction display, with which software or cables can I do this?

Code it?

You can’t code it, you can set it to preset functionality from the PCM though.

Hello, thank you for your answer

However, originally I did not have an MF steering wheel, I mounted one, the soft key works (on oil pressure display, turbo etc.), but does not appear on the counter menu, it is also found in the PCM?

It seemed to me that it was an option line on the counter menu? and it's not there.

Thanks, David

David,
Unfortunately I don’t think I’m educated enough on this topic to provide further insight... I do know that we don’t have coding capabilities in the 991 as you would in say a M3... with that being said I was able to find this thread, hopefully it gives clarity regarding the MF change over and if there’s any other steps required

MF wheel

Can you elaborate on what it is you are trying to do? Are you trying to assign a certain MFD default screen to the diamond logo button on the left side of the MF steering wheel?

Can you be exact and share what do you want to get programmed. What do you want to happen when you depress the diamond button after it has been programmed? That might help someone to give you the solution step by step. I have a 991.1 and the diamond button is on the multifunction wheel - mine is programmed to track advance for music.

Actually I changed my steering wheel for an MF, and I don't have this line in the counter, on settings, so I don't know, program the key

When I added the multi-function steering wheel to my 991.2, I also did not have the line to setup the diamond button. The dealer had to hook my car to their computer and establish the button in the car. After that, the programming line was there, I set it up, and everything works great. Hope this helps.

You might want to go to the Porsche Dealer and see if they can program your car fp know it has MF wheel and that will then most likely enable the options for you to program as you desire. Good luck! Keep us posted.

You need PIWIS II software and the associated interface box in order to code these cars. You can order it from China and it should be about $500.

Once you have that, you can code pretty much anything you’d like.
