If you look at the price of cars as the depreciation, this car could prove to be essentially a free car, perhaps you lose a little bit on the sales tax. I would take this car, keep searching for the manual of your dreams as you can always sell this car essentially the same price you paid for it, pretty easily.

So if you find the right manual car, just take the full loan so you can move quickly, then sell this car an pay down that loan.

Totally. I really prefer to drive on my own. Luckily all test drives I had were. I can understand a private seller not allowing this though!

This exact thought has crossed my mind but I don’t know the cars well enough to say for sure what resale value will be in, say, 2 years and/or 10, 15, 20k miles later. In 20k miles means it will be approaching 100k miles and may not sell well. Plus, I still ask myself why no one has bought this car already if it’s such a steal.

Where was the car advertised and for how long? Keep in mind it also holiday season and winter. Most folks are busy with other stuff this time of year, also not prime sportscar buying season.

This car is a great deal.

Even at 100k miles this is a 35-40k car IMO.

I have seen 997's with around 100k miles being listed around $40k, which means it was probably wholesale around 32-33?

Either way, the depreciation would be less than a new BMW.

I think the price is fair for the miles. My friend sold his 2012 911S Cabrio, manual for $59K with 23,000 miles.

Yes...everyone is thinking about the holidays in regards to their extra income. If this were May/June/July my money is that this car is gone.

Because there isn't any. There is a distinctive lack of low end torque. These things want to sing.
I also own a 3 pedal LS powered C5 Corvette with gobs of low end torque. I can drive lazily in traffic no problem, skip 3 gears, no complaints.
The 3.4...not so much, it starts to surge in power right about where I am shifting (5K) in the 'vette.
Totally different cars in almost every aspect, but I love them both. Porsche gets the nod for being more exclusive, if you like excluding.
