991.2 vs 991.1 Clutch
Does anyone know if he clutch in a 991.2 vs 991.1 differs much? I had a 3.4 991.1 before and the clutch was robust, heavy pedal and great for stop and go traffic to the point where I can just use the clutch to move the car without gas in traffic.
The 991.2 C2s clutch seems more of an on/off which is good on the track/open road but for daily driving it's hard to describe. Car has 30K miles. I wonder if the clutch in the 991.2 was adjusted for the turbo motors.

I have a new 2019 991.2 and the clutch makes a disengagement rattle noise at low RPM with a slight load when you push in the pedal.... like tooling around a parking lot. It does not sound elegant and my 6 speed Cayman has no such noise. The dealer says it is normal torque unloading noise. I think it might be some rev matching hardware or a result of turning an automatic into a manual....I don't know but I don't like it. I think it will grow on me as I drive it more and adapt to the conditions that cause it. No issues with functionality. Anyone want to weigh in on this observation?

I’ve been daily driving a 2019 C4 for the last 6 months. I would say that the clutch engagement is pretty smooth/easy and the pedal is not too heavy. I didn’t get a chance to drive a 991.1 with the manual so I can’t compare. The clutch is definitely lighter than the 997. I have no problem in trafic and no gas is needed to get the car moving. I have my issues with the shifter being too notchy for my taste, but IMO the clutch pedal feeling is great.

No such noise for me. I do get a metallic noise but only when the outside temperature gets very low and it disappears as the car gets warm.

Wow I guess this is common... I knew there was something off compared to the 991.1 clutch.
For me it feels like it doesn't grab/release strong enough. Can't slip the clutch. It's like an on/off kind of like a racing clutch but... Not

I've noticed its happened 1-2 times on my car when depressing at low speeds. Best way for me to describe it is like drivetrain slack. Even though I know its not. I assumed this was normal, and last time I brought mine in the dealer they said that was normal. Didn't notice any rattle noise however.

This is common but can me minimized with a slight change in technique. For me I found the problem to be more pronounced when getting off the gas and then on the clutch at almost the same time or very quickly. If you pause slightly after releasing the gas and then push in the clutch you will find it to be much smoother. It's all about the load on the drivetrain and it seems to be more pronounced on the 991.2. I'm basing my experience off of my 2019 Carrera T. I have a Cayman R and the experience is different for sure, less pronounced. And I just picked up a 2011 Cayenne with a manual and that's different again! Try shifting (lol) your technique a little and see what happens.

How am I going to beat a Hellcat driving like that?
