Illuminated sport chrono
Does anyone know if the 991 Sport Chrono can be coded in the PIWIS to be illuminated with headlights on like the 997?

I just ordered a guards red sport chrono gauge face retrofit after watching this Youtube video. Been wanting to do something like this but didn't want to lay out the $790 for a new gauge altogether. My car has all black main gauges, so I think just the red SC should add a little pop to an otherwise dark interior.
The kit in the video is a little different than what I purchased. Supposedly what I got is higher quality face, not just an overlay, includes the metal trim ring instead of decal etc. Also has the OEM carbon look center and comes in guards red. It cost a bit more but hoping the finished product is even nicer.
What I ordered

I plan to do a write up/review once I receive it.

It does, but for me when I have the instruments set to a comfortable level the Sport Chrono is too dim.

I agree. Watched that video just the other day and the hand is now not precisely striking the marker. Could be the placement of the outer ring sticker, which I was not fond of. If I changed the clock I would likely swap the entire unit from Porsche.

But I was very very careful to pop the needles off and put them back in exactly the same position. As soon as I put the unit back into the car and started the ignition, the clock did a reset process I’ve never seen before where it looked like it was doing a self diagnostic and everything went straight back to normal. All good.
