My Racing Yellow Carrera T

My Racing Yellow Carrera T
The Carrera T has been on my mind since May of this year after I drove one for 90 minutes on the track at PECLA. I was struck by how capable, fun and FAST this car is.
About a month ago a pre-owned, Black, low optioned T caught my eye.
Dealer was too high on price and too low trade allowance, so I kept shopping, all the while learning about the Carrera T on threads here. I was definitely enticed, and impressed by what Pete Stout & 000 Magazine had to say about the T.
Located a couple new 2019 models, a white one, dealer had great pricing, I struggled with white. Found a perfect spec Black 2019 T, dealer was only at a 10% discount...pass.
After a few weeks of obsessively searching the web, by now I had to have a Carrera T, I located a 2019 Carrera T with great specs: Manual trans, 4 way seats, RAS, PCCB, No sunroof, low miles and CPO.
One issue, it was freakiing YELLOW ! I kept wishing this car was Black. Having had 4 Black Porsche's I was fully aware of the lifestyle and thought it would be the perfect color in a Carrera T.
I have a few friends that own Racing Yellow, one with a GT3 and the other a GT2 RS Weissach, yeah that color looked pretty good. Thought about it, was half convinced, gave it a few days, found NO black T's, then decided WTH, life is short I'll do it!
Made a great deal with Porsche of Warrington, trading my 996 TT and a 997.1 C4S. The 996 TT was damn near perfect, am I really doing this? 2000 miles from Warrington PA to Colorado, ughhh transport time, delay and $$.
I proceeded forward regardless...this car better be good!
Signed and paid for the car November 1, now the wait. In the meantime I probably looked at every Racing Yellow Porsche on the web, yeah its cool, different but its freaking YELLOW, WTH??!
During the waiting period, (dealer would not release car until both trade vehicles were in their position), I contacted John Brandenberger at Soul Performance, ordered the last 991.2 Sport Cats he had in stock.
Being only about 8 miles from the dealership John generously offered to deliver the cats to dealer. Had them installed, service director sent me a nice video with the new Soul sound, ok that was a good move.
After what seemed like an eternity (those of us who have waited for the Transport to arrive know what I'm talking about), my Carrera T was finally picked up last Thursday. As luck would have it, an enclosed hauler with 2 drivers, who made the journey in 56 hours to my home in Colorado. Transport driver calls me Saturday, delivery is set for about 5 pm, right at sunset...still some light, that will work. More hours go by, driver finally calls and says we had to drop off a car in New Mexico, we can be there in an hour, or deliver on Sunday morning. It's midnight, dark, cold and why would I take delivery now? Told the driver ok, see you when you get here !
Car arrived as described, spent the next 2 hours geeking out in the garage, decided to call it a day at 2am Sunday.
I LOVE the color, wow Racing Yellow really POPS. So much better in person.
Even my Porsche expert girlfriend, who was completely against Racing Yellow, "why don't you hold out for a Black one?", is digging the color. I guess I'm not so crazy after all !
Sunday forecast called for sun and 65 degrees (we still have yet to receive snow, which meant no gravel on the roads). Blasted the "new car" all around the mountain passes and spent the entire day in the car.
So far so good !
Getting clear bra'd with some stripe mods today. Stay tuned.

That dealer is 4 miles from my house and I came SO close to grabbing that car a couple of weeks ago. I talked myself into yellow and my wife talked me out of it. Think you may have a cooler wife? Congrats on the purchase, it's a beautiful car!

Nice story and yes, the T does look good in Yellow! When I was thinking about getting a Cab that color was on the top of my list. I had a Yellow Viper Roadster in the past so I hope you are ready for some attention!
