Car is back in the mountains for the summer season. This 911 continues to deliver. Love the APR tune & Soul Sport Cats, if you are on the fence, just do it!
The GF blasted up to elevation 10,780 yesterday in the T...

@TYPE911 Looks like you are having a blast! You’re building your T just like I would mine. The APR tune looks to be the real deal. Did you do sport cats only? Or other exhaust pieces as well? how do you like the tune?

Sorry for the 20 questions, but I’m at a crossroads. Sold my 991.1 C2S and I’m currently debating a 997 Turbo or a Carrera T. Have driven both. I live in Houston and we have Very few twisties here. The .1 did not inspire me, too inert. The T appeals to me because it’s lithe and has that special sauce that Porsche poured on it. Very lithe and fizzy.

the 997.2 turbo appeals to me because it has that old 911 character and shape, weight distribution, hydraulic steering, etc. It loses out by having more lag, much older PDK, and the less sophisticated chassis, although I’d grab a DSC controller to help.

As someone who’s owned both, would love to hear your thoughts between the two.

Thanks and happy motoring!

I did just the Soul Sport Cats & APR stage 1.
Tough choice between the 2 cars you are asking about. I owned a Turbo S, 530 hp but as you say older version of pdk...car was wicked fast, but I found the PDK to be ho-hum.
I'm a manual guy for now, unless it's an RS version, I see no need for it, that's just me. My car with an APR stage 1 tune feels as fast as 997.1 TT's I've driven, faster than the 996 TT that was tuned I owned, and more than both generations.
If you can find a 997.2 TT manual that is a special car, which will be a premium. Everyone loves the 997TT, especially in a manual, but honestly for day to day, I'd pick a tuned Carrera T with the proper options, or lack thereof.

Thanks very much!

This will be a weekend only car. Due to a left ankle injury, it will almost certainly be a PDK as well. I know that the 991.2 clutch is much lighter, so there's a chance there. But a 997.2 Turbo manual isn't going to cut it. I drove a .1 and immediately felt my left ankle bothering me.

Given where I live, I'm looking for a car that feels special all the time. Not just when wringing it out. My daily driver is a Model 3 performance so I don't necessarily need THE fastest car, but of course, who doesn't like more power!

Been almost a year since I did an update on the T. Car is still like new with 9000 miles and performing great, one of the best 911's I've ever owned!
Had a chance to drive up to the Gateway Canyons Resort, in Gateway Colorado last weekend. Beautiful place and perfect Porsche roads!
A few shots from the trip....
