Are there really fake exhaust tips? Wow! Would not expect that on a 911. One of the appeals is that the features the car has are there for an engineering reason. I dunno. I love my 911 and am a member of PCA, but am feeling like I will hold on to my car for a very long time and may not get another Porsche. Who knows! I think I went through the more power and faster phase with bikes so kind of got that out of my system. After three and a half year, my 911 still ticks all the boxes just fine! Sorry Porsche! You made the car too good!
Great comments and I feel the same way about my 991.2 C2. I've seen a few 992 in the wild, they sound great and you really have to spot the styling cues to tell them apart from the 991. The 992 interior is a bit silly. I've driven that set up in the Cayenne and the large screen is distracting and disorienting. For crying out loud, how big a nav screen to you need? I'll keep all my buttons, my MT and my non-tuned, mere 370hp engine that is really fun to drive. The upcharge to the 992 does not make sense for me, but I can understand the appeal.

drcollie -your 991.1S looks great compared to the 992. It's a keeper. Period.

I’ve had my new-to-me ‘17 991.2 C2 for almost exactly 6 months. Still love it.

I do find, after being in our ‘19 Cayenne Base, that the interior / tech seems dated. The glass interseat area and especially large, high resolution screen are well done in the 9Y0, imho. If the 992 is like that, I think it will grow on folks.

The exterior seems a wash, to me. At 10 feet they look about the same. I was at the PECATL a month ago and parked with three 992s w dealer plates. Sure there are minor details but both 991 and 992 look like 911s.
(I’m third from right).

As to value for money, I’m not in the market for a new one; my CPO is good for 2+2 more years, so my plan is to drive my 991 like I stole it for the foreseeable future.

A lot comes down to personal preference and everyone is different. I was ultimately looking at 2019 and 2020 911's. Knowing what the 992 interior looked like, I sat in a Panamera and Cayenne to get a feel for the new interior before the 992's landed. That made up my mind on the spot. I love tech, but all that glossy black and screen was not for me. I like simple in a sports car. I love the matte screen, and I adore the buttons. It works for me. I think it is much more a timeless interior than the 992. I also hate the 992 rear. I think the black plastic, which to this point you cannot paint at build like the 991.2, is completely out of place on a car of this price point. It is visually unappealing to me, and makes the rear end just a mess. The car has such amazing lines, but I think that rear is ruined now. I am sure the 992 drives better than my 991.2, but I doubt I would really notice enough.

When I found a demo 2019 for 20% off, that made it an easy decision. For $30k, there is no comparison which vehicle I would take all day long. I ended up not paying for a massive amount of depreciation, and still got the car I wanted in the end. Worked for me...perhaps not for all..but I cannot imagine a better vehicle, it is simply an amazing car...and I will have no envy when I see my first 992 drive by me.

That's why I love the simplicity of the Carrera T interiors. I spec'd my in all black, MT, 4WSS+ seats with leatherbacks, the T-interior with the black strap handles, gloss black trim. I even removed the multifunction steering wheel bits after and putting in stock blanks. This is a Day-1 delivery shot.
