Default Suggestion for Garage LED lighting

Looking to spruce up the garage (24x24’) now that there is a C4 sitting in it lol. Don’t need it shop worthy, just some basic lighting. Electrician mentioned best to do LED 4ft tubes, prob 4 of them on the ceiling.

Wondering what suggestions anyone might have for what has worked for them. Thank you!

Agree, get the Costco ones. My son has nine in his 3-car garage (20x30) and it's like daylight in there. They can screw to the ceiling but it was easier to use the chains to hang them from, gives a lot of tolerance on mounting point accuracy. They have enough wire to join together for three per bay but too short for just two per bay (they have a socket at the far end of the light from the power cord). I recommend six for your application, 24x24 is a nice oversized double garage.

LED lighting can interfere with garage door opener signals. I installed some LEDs and had to remove them.

I have all LED lighting in my garage with no issues with my opener, but I have removed the optical beam triggers that detect objects in the doorway. I think these devices may be the culprit that is susceptible to the interference.

I like light and do a lot of detail work. I have my 22x22 garage setup with ten of the 8 foot T8 quad fixtures. 40 tubes total.

It is absolutely overkill which is great. I have the lights on two switches. One controls just a couple lights for normal work. The other throws on the high beams.

My electrician also suggested the Costco ones LOL. Do you know if your son has any issues with the garage remotes after installing these LEDs?

Do you recall which LEDs you installed? Were they the Costco ones?

This is my only concern with installing something is I keep hearing about issue with the garage remotes and LEDs. Is this common? I hate to go through the effort and then have to take them down. Turning off the door sensors would definitely not be an option for me. Does no one install plain old flourescents int he garage any longer, or are the LEDs simply miles better and the way to go?

Here is another option, maybe a little less expensive that Costo - not the least expensive on Amazon - better quality, 50 W CRI 80+ 4 of them in one car garage is like Daylight. They have chain hang options if you like.

Thanks. I also was trying to find the non-integrated LEDs..so that when they stop working, you don't have to pull down the whole unit. But they seem hard to find..maybe I am not searching for the right thing, but they all seem to be less expensive integrated units.

Thanks Garfunkle! So these appear to be integrated so you can change the bulbs out. For a normal height garage though, are they too bright?

I have the Costco LED lights and they work great. I also came across this item.
