Default What do I do?

2014 911s. I got the dreaded yellow cooling fault again. Already had it two months ago and they changed a COV under warranty. I got it again today. I’m in South Florida so it’s pretty hot. About 95 today. On my way home from work, started the car and it was there again but went away during my drive home. I had already set an apt for tomorrow at my dealer. Will they still be able to diagnose?

Also, what water temp should my car be running at for daily driving. I’m always at about 225 and my cars fan usually stays in after turning it off, especially during the day. Normal?

may not be the COV
my first time in my 991.1 S was COV second time was the PDK transmission cooler leaking... VERY expensive, lucky was under CPO warranty...

And that is one of the reasons I sold that car as soon as warranty was out.

Thanks for the reply. I have a manual trans. Without a code will they even do anything? I’m wondering is this is a wasted trip?

Does a water temp of 225 sound too hot?

I don’t think my coolant temp ever exceeds 194.

I believe you have those measurements flipped.

No. Sounds like your car is missing an old update that pretty much locks the coolant temp at 194

It goes higher than that, but the car doesn't report it in normal driving conditions.

Driving my car in central FL with the ambient temps in the low 90's gives me water and oil temps 198 F at most but is usually a few degrees less. This is in Sport mode.

Normal mode yields around 208 F. I've not seen 225 F, that would be abnormal.

Good luck with a solution.

Last month my vehicle displayed a coolant fault and the culprit turned out to be a bad vacuum pump, nothing more in my case.
