Although I do not know the answer, I presume you mean the aluminum wheels as I have never seen a magnesium HRE.

BBS LM-R's one of my favorite wheels if they only made them in '20s.

Too bad they were only 19"s and don't have set up for 991s. Only can do FIR or CHR....

By BBS directly or by you guys? Does that mean you lose your BBS mfg warranty? Please PM me details as it has somewhat piqued my interest.

I also trust BBS. However I also think BBS FI-R are the prettiest wheels ever made. The HRE looks like a cheaper knock off. So to me, the BBS has it all. Looks, strength, style and Performance.

The two look very similar. I love both personally. I think the R101 Lightweight has a classier look without the holes on each spoke and the FI-R looks more aggressive for the RS types. The R101 Lightweight was based off their P101 which came a few years before the FI-R's so you can tell BBS took inspiration from that wheel and added their own twist on it.

The BBS FI came years before the FI-R. : )

The original FI never had the holes.

Excellent. The only thing that I would change (regardless of it was BBS, HRE or another wheel manufacturer) would be to use the Porsche Crest on the center screw/cap rather than the wheel manufacturer's logo.

I have HRE's on my Porsche and BBS on my BMW. And I've had several sets of each on various vehicles over the years. Both are excellent wheels. I find the HRE to be a notch above BBS in quality and runout, they are as true and balanced as a wheel can be. They are also more expensive. You pays your money, you takes your choice - you can't go wrong either way.

I ended up going with HRE for the custom offset option.

Same as yours, just a more aggressive offset fitment. I didn't want to run spacers and if I was gonna just do something flush, I would have gone with the FI-Rs.
