If they are not damaged they will last a LONG time so don't worry!

are you referring to tiny little cracks around the drilled holes?

Are you referring to what appear to be tiny little cracks on the entire surface of the rotor? Here is what I mean by damage (chips):

It certainly is frustrating and random. Had one 991 and it did it (and was told it is normal) and had another 991 (my current) and it does not do it. I certainly prefer the one that does not do it. Is my current 991 abnormal because it does not do it?

Mine have never squealed in the 8k miles since new. I did several high speed stops early on.

Also, when I wash the car, I use my garden hose with a nozzle set at the point where the water comes out at the highest pressure and thoroughly rinse all four rotors and pads until no more dust washes off.

No noise issues whatsoever. I do agree that using the assembly grease on the brakes when replacing pads/rotors will help.

Chladni Plate. Fun, ironic fact, he was a German physicist.

Mine do it, sporadically. Most cars with big brakes and rotors do. No big deal. It's very common for cars that are designed to go fast and end up driving 95% of their lives at city speeds.

Having owned many motorcycles including the current ones, some have had the dreaded brake noise. I removed the pads from the offending caliper, apply a very small amount of Copper Paste to the back side ( caliper piston side) of the pads and reassemble. Brake squeaking gone. Dont know if this will work on our cars but I’d give it a try.

Default .1 and never a peep

I would first try turning rotors and then add new factory pads. Then new rotors if that did not work. I avoid puddles or spraying water on rotors when hot. I can not take squeal so i would have to figure this out as well. Factory pads make more dust but less stuff in them to cause noise. Might also try also replacing clips.

Presumably 'new'...worth a try. Brembo B-Quiet. 0.00795 PMU, can't beat the price.

Porsche says not to use this stuff but one thin line across the back of the pads will stop all noise.
