Default Fidelity Gold Plus vs Platnium

I have done a little bit of a search and have reviewed the coverage for both. (yes i know is inclusionary vs exclusionary) It seems to me that the Gold Plus will cover ALMOST everything (and for sure the entire PDK if it fails)

but i want to know if anyone have experience first hand with something that the Gold plus didnt cover and wouldve been covered under the platinum.

I had the Platinum on my S4. Only used it for a voltage regulator. It covered it. Then I bought powertrain, the lowest level coverage and it covered my failed transmission for $11k. My service advisor really had to work on it with them, but they eventually replaced it. Paid $250 out of pocket.

I would probably go with the Fidelity Platinum just for the peace of mind that they will have a more difficult time denying coverage.

I had Fidelity Platinum on my previous Panamera 4S that had tons of problems. They took care of everything, I only had to pay out of pocket for my deductible. Saved me thousands plus..... I think for my 991.1S I got platinum as well, so did my wife for her Cayman R.

I'm wrestling with the same question. There is another thread on the topic of Fidelity. I have about 3 months to decide. A good sized delta between the plans so it would be nice to know if there have been failures that justify the top plan.

what is the delta?

pricing in general for this warranty seems to be ‘mysterious’ which also makes me very cautious.

I saw a $4,489 difference between the 5 year/60K miles plans. Platinum to Gold difference.

yeah the delta that I am see is about $2k

Looking at the list, i really cant think of anything that would cost the diff of 2k in the next 6 years to justify going with the platinum.....What I am saying is I am probably willing to make a bet that I can fix anything that's not covered under the gold plus for less than 2k in the next 6 yrs.

So far I have
- sun/moon roof rails that the Gold Plus will not cover (it states only the moon/sun roof motor is covered)
- Side folding mirror motor (it states only mirror motor and i am assuming is the actual mirror adjustment motor, not the flip motor)
- steering column adjustment motor (it states steering tilt and telescoping mechanism....not sure if that includes the motor)

I am sure i can think of more......but i am not gonna go crazy over it LOL

I'll soon get the Plat 6/60. It's not the parts cost but the install that's the spendy bit. Might even go for the $0 deductible, for the odd switch or sensor that costs $250 to replace.
If you don't get in before 10k miles for around $2k, the price rockets.

I just purchased gold for my 2013 cab 7/70K miles , I could see the extra cost of platinum , I hope that it doesn't become a problem for denying claims , never used it I was looking for something in case of major issues or some of the other . The main thing I was concerned about is the Navigation isn't covered and mine is a cab and it is not covered.

spoke with Mike, looks like they did away with the Gold Plus..... :-(

kind of makes the decision easier....but i end up paying more...because the Gold excudes a lot of electrical stuff....so platnium it is i guess......(the diff btw gold and plat was 2257 for 6/60k)

Is it 6/60 from vehicle in service date or when the Fidelity warranty goes into effect? Thanks!

I've not seen a 7/70 plan? Is that offered only for certain model years? I have a 2012 991.1S. Is that through Fidelity?

The fidelity’s plans are from date you take out plan . Factory or cpo warranties are used until they expire .
for example a new car has 4 years 50,000 miles you buy a 7 year /70,000 mile warranty you ave 3 years and 20,000 miles of fidelity warranty .
if you wait until warranty expired then fidelity price looks at mileage and year of vehicle for pricing .
from what I understand every 10,000 miles is an increase in price as well as years .
there is no guarantee of future prices .
for example I plan on buying 8 years 80,000 for net cayenne for around $2500 before I hit 10,000 miles . The gold plan will give me 4 more years and up to 80,000 miles of coverage

6/60k from the day you buy the warranty

I got a quote that's good till the 12/31/19 or 35k miles. I dont drive the car much and is still under CPO until 4/2020. but I will def get it before the end of this year to lock in the rate he gave me. $2200 or so extra for 6 year (gold vs platinum) is about $360 per year, not that bad (for $250 deductible)
