I’ve searched here and YouTube and haven’t found anything on removing and replacing these parts.

does anyone know of a reference?

The cup holder part that slides in and out of the dash is the hardest part. You put your hand on the BOTTOM OF IT while pulling towards you. You will feel metal on metal scrape on the way in and out. Thats normal. It snaps in. But it takes some pressure to yank out. Holding the bottom upward and pulling towards you releases it. After you remove the screw holding it in place of course.

ALSO, The center console is a PITA to get out. The clips used snap easily. I found that pulling the CENTER CONSOLE SIDES (the plastic/leasther along the side of the carbon center console) pieces out BEFORE pulling the center console up helped. Pull your ashtrey or cup holder out and start from the ash tray and work your way towards the dash.

Where did you get the carbon pieces from? Good quality?

I am having a difficult time with the PDK shifter. Supposed to have a ring at the base that twists to release, but mine won't budge. Have seen SIDV's vids on this but I cannot get mine to release. Don't want to use a tool, but may have to.

Most of the non OEM kits dont include the actual cup holder tray. That leaves me to believe these are OEM. But I dont know. Just saying.

You do not remove the PDK shifter to install the center console insert? At least I didnt?

Understand. I am also planning to replace the PDK shifter with a DB Carbon version along with the other trim. And I believe both DB Carbon and MA Carbon replace the entire cup holder assembly, but MA Carbon requires your old one as a core, and DB Carbon does not.

What’s the best prying tool kit to get?

Yeah, it’s an OEM kit from a GT3 RS. That’s also why it includes the frame under the centre console trim, and not just the trim with clips.

Yup. I dont remember, but I think there was one screw. Maybe two for the cup holder. The rest is just grab and go. = )


I have something like this off amazon. For the most part you can pretty much do this by hand.


I did the same thing with an interior set myself. Thats how I assumed that. = )

The center part can be a PITA. I circled the clips that CAN break easily. It seems this thing wants to come DIRECTLY UP. If you pull at an angle or on one side more than the other, the ball end on the center console piece will pull up at an angle and break the clip that holds it down. I broke 2 and had it took me two weeks to figure out the correct PN of that clip. There are so many versions of it, that it took me some time to figure out.

Also, I found that pulling the two side pieces directly (blue line with arrow) towards the doors helped me see the clips and remove my stubborn center console piece. Maybe mine was just stuck. But that helped me. They snap in directly horizontally Just grab and pull them towards the door(s) if you need more room to pull that center part out.

Hey, thank you for using my PIC for reference! Cool that it's helping. FWIW I had no trouble at all removing the center console trim. I was slow and careful and it came right out.

I just did this. Those two side pieces can be removed completely. Then you can use a flat screwdriver underneath each retaining clip to pry up the center trim from the side. Just go slow and work it out.

How do you remove the sides of center console?

Carefully pull them out towards the seat, starting at the rear portion by the arm rest. When you get to the dash portion don't pull those sideways as you can break clips. The portion closed to the dash pulls up and out towards the rear of the car.
