Default Beware this Carrera T?

I love the Carrera T. I'll likely end up with one when the right spec hits the market. Because of that I do a search for new-to-market Ts every day. This one popped up in my search, and while not a car that meets my requirements, seemed like an AMAZING spec. And the price was too good to be true. Then I took a look at the Carfax and to me it is a huge red flag despite showing no accident history.

July 2018 the car is sold in Florida. Accessories installed. Looks like GT3 Touring lip and clear side markers.
May 2019 the car is serviced and only has 475 miles.
June 2019 the car shows up for sale at Mark Motors in Texas. OK. Maybe owner traded it in on a GT3 or the like.
July 2019 the car shows as being sold at auction. Ruh-roh. Red flag #1.
September 2019 the car shows as being sold at auction (again) to a dealer. Red flag #2.
Late September 2019 the car shows up at a Chevy dealership as being serviced at 600 miles. Red flag #3.
Early October 2019 the car shows up as being serviced at the same Chevy dealership with 1,000 miles. Red flag #4.
Mid October 2019 the car shows up at a different Chevy dealership as being serviced at 1,400 miles. Red flag #5.

What do you think the story is with this car?

If a PPI was good I don't see any reason why it would not a good car for someone looking to get a T, and probably for less than what they are asking. And it is still under factory warranty.

Mark Motors is a dealer west of San Antonio and I noticed that they have a lot of specialty car and high end cars so they may have wanted this on their lot to gauge the market.
First owner only drove it 475 miles in 10 months (maybe why owner sold it) and service is probably at time of trade. Normal.
The Chevy dealer could be a standard check for new cars on lot and for a potential buyer having it checked out.

so does the car have the notorious valve tick or was there a money shift but not too severe so potential buyers backed out after DME reading? I let Rennlist speculate.

But this car have spent more miles on back of trailer then driving miles.
Bartow is half way between Orlando and Tampa. I wonder what the auction prices were.

probably bought it and didn't like the bucket seats. dealers thinking they could flip it for a quick profit and probably overpaid, the only downside i see is that it's not at a porsche dealer to CPO it.

That is one of the biggest question marks for me. I'm familiar with Mark Motors. That they would send it to auction two weeks after taking it into their inventory is peculiar.

That is an excellent point. Forgot all about the DME. Hmmm.

Wow. Very cool find. Listed retail now for less than it went for at auction barely a month ago.

Some cars to keep an eye for are these cars that most likely came through the Porsche Experience Center. Yellow and Red. You can tell they went through the Porsche Experience Center or at least PCNA because they were not registered until several thousand miles were put on them and I believe most of the cars for there they order in red or yellow.

Just looking at the picture of these cars, the interior condition looks like they have 10x the mileage. Crazy

I want to say yellow and red are the Porsche driving school cars rather than the Porsche Experience center cars. When I was at PEC Atl in July the cars were all colors. There were two Carrera Ts in use the day I went; the white one I was in and a black one.

Not that the PEC cars can't be red or yellow. But I'm pretty sure the driving schools car are only two colors.

Yes, they can definitely be any color. But I often notice they will pick 2-3 colors for their cars when they have them for each model.

They do the same thing at their driving school in Alabama. They seem to pick a couple colors for each model.

you can tell if they're PEC or press cars based on mileage at first sale and/or original sale location. you will also see several cars specced the same on the market at the same time

Yeah, a month or two ago the market EXPLODED with used yellow and white Carrera Ts.

There's probably semen everywhere in that car. It's a hard pass for me. Find one from a Porsche dealer with no drama.
