Engine Control Fault

I had the same issue on my 2017 991.2 after the 20k service. Ended up being a faulty sensor in my gas tank.
Apparently there are two sensors, the first time they replaced the non-faulty one and the light came back on. Second time they replaced the other sensor and the engine fault went away.
Hope that helps

Agreed with one of the above comment, there are probably hundreds of error codes that can light the CEL ON so only a reading of the code with an OBD II tool will help narrow down the investigation. Would be interesting to know what error codes the dealer will read.

The car is done and it turned out to be a gasoline tank pressure sensor that needed replacement. No charge, but still a bother. The car is two years old. Hmmmm.

I got the error message "Fault engine control Possible to drive on" message this past weekend on my 2014 C4. First check engine light in 2.5 years of owning the car. Dropped off at dealer, and they replaced the gas cap cover under CPO warranty. Apparently it wasn't sealing properly causing the check engine light.

me that the sensor design was flawed and in some cars a pressure leak occurs. The sensor was redesigned since the car was built and they updated that part for me. End of story, thanks all.

Congrats Dan!
I hope that's it.
Lol, Everyone wasn't on board with my gas cap fix.
It is the first thing we check.
Dan, I'm curious they swapped out a new "updated" pressure sensor, did they sneak a new gas cap on also? They sometimes do.
Gas cap.. not sealing ... = fault with pressure in fuel system.

Nope, I just checked - no new gas cap. I might treat myself to a faux aluminum one.

Good news Dan, thanks for the feedback.

It’s back. I guess nothing lasts forever. This sux.... three hours back to the dealership. I love the beach but wish for a Porsche dealership nearer to me. Does anybody here have any experiences at the Dover or Annapolis dealerships?

Really sucks Dan. When I lived in MD many moons ago I went to Annapolis Porsche and they were great, and I still buy my parts from them for low prices and return policy.
