Thanks, yeah I understand the lower average temperature; I was more asking about the RATE of rise of temperature.

Say you are leaving the house in the morning. Will the car get up to Temp sooner with Sport on, or Sport off?

If there are oil coolers involved (like my Cayman) which switch on automatically with Sport, it would seem that the car would take longer to warm up the oil. Hence, it would get to operating temperature LONGER, but I'm not sure about the Turbo engine in the 991.2,

198F? My coolant temp has never gone above 194F EVER.

Sport mode on because your car is operating at higher engine revs, generating more heat. In auto (PDK) with Sport mode on you'll hit the oil temp about 2 minutes faster. Manually shifting, the difference disappears because you are controlling the engine speed.
