Default Cleaning Dash

Hello all, I recently purchased a 2014 911. The previous owner has done some treatment to the top of the dashboard, and it’s much shinier than I prefer. And not only doesn’t look right, it causes more glare when driving. What would you recommend to clean, remove this product? I also have a Macan so I know how it’s supposed to look. Thank you!

Zymol leather cleaner (not conditioner) did the trick for me. Even though the dash is not leather.

303 aerospace protectant is my go-to for just about anything plastic/rubber.

Car was from Florida, so I’m sure it is some type of protectant. Problem is it’s coming off on the passenger side . Can you tell what it might be from the pics?

Probably something that was applied at the dealer. I would try a lighter cleaner first like a Nextzett Cockpit Premium. If that doesn't work, then a dedicated leather cleaner, maybe even with a leather brush, might be required to remove it. I use Leather Masters cleaner and Swissvax conditioner.

Leather treatment does nothing for vinyl or plastic.

Full leather interior here (dash cleaning).

1) Clean with Lexol Leather Cleaner (orange bottle). A diluted solution of Woolite & water also works well, and you may already have.
2) I use Aerospace 303 on the large flat surface.
3) I use Zaino Z10 on the sculpted leather bits.
4) Let dry & cure about 24 hours.
5) Final buff with 100% white terry cloth towel to further knock down any sheen.

Thank you for the suggestions! It does have full leather, and optional extended package, whatever that get's me. I will try the suggested products, and report back. I have the Zaino products on hand. Just seems like the more I mess with it the worse it looks.

To my eyes, and from your photos, it looks water damaged? Why all the "texture" on those flat areas? Or, maybe damage from an overly aggressive window washer (glass cleaner over-spray) at the local/dealership car wash?

Get one of these. I've had one of these brushes over 12 years for leather cleaning:

Do you have any facts other than opinion?

From the pics, does it look like 303 to you? Maybe I'll just add more protectant, rather than trying to take it all off. What would you do?

Use a Mild leather cleaner. Colourlock, Gyeon make these cleaners. After this the leather treatment that is applied is a matte finish product. Not really designed to penetrate into the leather since the leather is painted and clear coated. I would use a Mild cleaner for a short duration and let dry and see how that looks. Then rinse and repeat if needed.

Well, it's a good thing that 303 isn't a leather treatment then!

Your dash has stitches, so I believe that means it is leather. Vinyl dashboards don't have stitching.
