What is everyone’s opinion on PSE?

Would it be worth adding it?
My .1 did not have it when I purchased it. Had my dealer add it and very glad I did. Always have it on, unless highway cruising with my wife in the car.

It was a must have for me.
1. I wanted the center exhaust I prefer the look
2. Wanted the ability to close valves - can also do this aftermarket.
3. PSE with Soul Sport Cats is a near-perfect exhaust for me without a huge cost.

Everybody has their own priorities and preferences. For me, it has to have all the performance options in the P3P Sport Pkg. And X51 PowerKit if it's an S.

I think it's worth the add, although I would opt for a sportier exhaust than the factory. Just replaced my OEM PSE muffler with a Cargraphic one. It really adds to the Jekyll and Hyde personality these cars can have.

I have it on my 991.2 and view it pretty close to “must have”.

I didn't have it on my first 991.1 C2 and now have it on my 991.1 C2S. I love it!

OP assuming you are planning on keeping your 991.1 for at least a couple of years, and you obviously think sound is an important component of a sports car, and you have regret for not having PSE. So.... it is a no brainer.

The beauty of the PSE is it is switchable and it is OEM. Nice to be able to dial it down in crowded parking garages or early in the morning around home. And when you eventually want to trade/sell your car, it is an asset (add on aftermarket exhaust will turn some away).

When ordering my 991.2, it was the first box checked, yes, it was of utmost importance, at least for me.

I have not read all the responses in this thread.

I would get into a 991.1 with the PSE and decide for yourself. For me, the PSE in the 19 GTS is enough of what I want and not over the top. So it was a great choice. But I have a different engine and model so only your ears can tell. From what I understand at least in the 991.2 models there are differences in the base, S and GTS in terms of sound. I have not sat in them all with and without PSE though.

Default PSE is a must have for me

Yes I love my PSE and if I am in the market for any 911, there are 2 options I must have sport Chrono and sport exhaust.

If buying/speccing new I'd option it, and if I was searching used I'd prefer it (if it was a spec that had everything else I wanted I could probably live without it or retrofit it)

I'm an OEM guy/don't mod my exhausts so I like having the PSE from the factory. I find it to be a subtle difference in sound but deeper and aggressive on both .1 and .2. Seems like most buyers prefer it as well if resale matters to you
