Default Snow tires on 20 inch wheels

I am trying to plan ahead for winter and look for snow tires for my daily driver '17 C4S. I have rear axle steering, which limits me to 20 inch wheels - but I can't seem to find any approved snow tires for 20's. Has anyone run snows on 20 inch wheels ?

Apologies if there are other threads on this already - I did try to search but didn't find anything on point.

You can definitely run snow tires on 20". Porsche even sells winter wheel/tire packages in that size. Rear width may be 295 instead of 305, though.

If you are checking Tire Rack - they might just be out of stock right now - but the Michelin Alpin were offered last year - and my dealer matched TireRack pricing fwiw.. (I'm driving a 17 C4S coupe with rear wheel steering and ran those winters last year)

Michelin Alpin's snowies all day. FYI they will NOT be 305 width, they are 295 width (narrower is better in snow --- see rally cars)

Thats great news - thank you everyone for your help. Now I need to decide if I will buy another set of wheels or have the snows mounted on my painted Carerra wheels. Other than putting my wheels through the punishment of an Ohio winter, is there any reason not to just swap the tires back/forth on the same wheels ? Presuming I have my P dealer do the swaps, is there any wear/tear on the wheels/tires (ex: tire bead) I should worry about ?

You can use the same wheels. Only downside is cost and potential for scratches on your painted wheels. My dealer charges more than 200 bucks for mounting and balancing tires and wheels.
If you buy a set from the dealer, they can store the tires and wheels not being used for 25 bucks a month. Saves the hassle of having to haul the tires and wheels twice a year.
If you buy a set of wheels and tires from TR, another option is to do the swap at home.
With 20 inch wheels, the maximum width seems to be 295 mm at the rear which unfortunately reduces the sidewall height a little. Not great for winters and potholes but with RAS you can't minus size the winter wheels and tires. I use 19s for NH winters and I don't have RAS.

There are some 19 inch rims that work with rear axle steering.

You'd have to ask around - the GT3 forum might get more responses since people run them for the track.

I ran a set of 19 inch Finspeed rims on my 991.1 GT3 that had rear axle steering. There is a bolt that needs to be flipped to make them work - took 5 min.

19s are certainly doable - just takes some searching around for what will fit.

Being able to run 19s would be great (cheaper, more sidewall, more options) - thanks for the tip on the GT3 forum. Im hoping that the dealer will flip that bolt for me (to avoid any warranty issues)

Even with the bolt flip - there are limited options.

I'm sure your dealer will tell you it's not possible.

But it is, because I've done it, as have many others

Is the bolt flip something that could cause a warranty issue or is this a trim mounting/etc thing ?

I am also struggling with that decision as well. For the money the basic HRE wheels could be an option as well as the cheapest 20's are around ~2400 from tire rack, and hre's are coming in at 2700. You also need TPMS sensors etc.
