Default 93 Pure Gas

It might just be in my head, but the 991 sure seems to like running on this.

We have 90 octane with no ethanol at 1 station here, I use it a lot.....But I just paid $3.89 a gallon yesterday...where in the world are you that regular 87 is $2.0something??....Laguna Beach?

Not Laguna Beach! My Gas Buddy App shows lowest Major Gas Co Regular/87 at $3.87 in Laguna. On average CA drivers pay nearly a dollar per gallon in taxes (after July 1 increase 2nd highest in the Nation behind Pennsylvania).

I filled up yesterday: $3.009 for 93 at Shell (with 10% ethanol); regular is $2339; however, further south in the Orlando area regular can be had for $2.199. I remember the days when .10 separated all octane levels but since so many vehicles require premium now that spread has been going up for a while.

Only one place in San Diego that sells 100 octane (no place that sells 93) and I am not convinced that it all mixes nicely when I throw 3 gallons in to up my overall octane rating. At somewhere near $8 a gallon it is not cheap.

Other than moving, any other solutions to this?

It does like it because Porsche says to use 98 when in Germany.

Different measuring system. 98 ron in europe is equivalent to us r+m/2 93

Not sure why you are advocating the use of 90 octane for cars that have a minimum octane requirement of 91??

Gasoline is heavily refined, and even dino oil is refined albeit not to the extent of gasoline.

It would be easier to find a dinosaur in the Midwest than 93 octane no ethanol fuel.
