Is it possible to get Michelin Xi3’s on this bad boy? Instead of Alpin 4’s. I guess it wouldn’t be a good idea, wouldn’t handle well and the torque would shred the tires?
Curious what will handle deep snow better; my C4S on 20” or 19” Michelin Alpins or my RWD BMW 128i. Curious to hear opinions. I get that the Xi3’s will handle deep snow better but tbh RWD period isn’t the best platform for that even with the right tires.

I daily drove my C63 with winter tires in the winters of Alberta.
No issues at all.
Is my AWD Subaru STi better than the C63 in the snow/ice? Obviously, but the C63 was a much better car to drive overall. When the snow got more than 4 inches I would take either the Subaru or Jeep Wrangler.
The C63 is now replaced with an E63 that is excellent in the snow.
In deep snow? pushing the snow with your bumper deep the AWD will be helpful, but what the difference in ground clearance? The Jeep in RWD is better than either the Subaru or E63 in deep snow because of ground clearance.
With regards to the choice of tire, I personally prefer a tire that has an advantage on ice versus one that can handle 'high speeds' and is better for handling (i.e. X-ice 3 versus Alpins), but I am often on snow and ice covered roads in the winter and the need for better traction on ice and snow is my personal priority.
I currently have the Nokian R3s on the E63 and they are holding up very well. They subjectively are better at highway speeds than the X-ice 2, and also have better ice/slush and snow traction. They cost more but are definitely worth it. I switched from X-ice 2 to Nokians as well on my Subaru.
Would a set of Alpins have better traction for dry roads in the winter? Obviously, but I prefer to be able to stop and go on ice/snow rather than being able to pull the most G's on dry roads.
YMMV depending on your needs.

I don't winter drive my 911 but I have PA4's on my Golf R (on my second set, too). They're a fantastic tire. I've had x-ice 2 & 3 on my wife's GLK and Sedona. Great tires, but they are not a performance winter tire in any sense.
If you're on dry pavement a lot in winter, the PA4 is better for sure.

And for the 911 there is likely no X-ice option.
koala: I am seriously debating getting a Golf R for a winter car as well.
