997 TTS vs 991.1S

I too choose the TTS. Why? Sexy beast, great colour combo, great steering and... PCCBs. No one has comment on these so I will. I had them on my 997.1 CS and I have them on my T. Simply mind-blowing braking power.

I owned 2 997 and I too think the interior is dated, people kept hanging their head on the steering but I don’t care for feeling every little gravels on the road either. Personally stay within the 991 generation either C2S, GTS, or TT or TTS, it is a huge upgrade from 997 generation.

The 997 TTS was my least favorite 911 that I ever owned, and definitely my least favorite 997. It was a really fast and beautiful car. I did not like the PDK on it and really hated the intrusive and not very smooth intervention of the PTV. I got rid of it in a couple of years and went back to a 997.1 turbo with manual trans and no PTV. I love that car. I also own a 991.2 Carrera and really like it a lot. I would go with a 991.1S over a 997 TTS. Better yet - try to find a 991.2 Carrera. I think it is better than both.
What is right for me may not be for you.

I went from a 991.2 base to a 997.2 C2S. The 991 is a tremendously composed, capable and refined car. Too refined for my tastes, so I went back to a 997. Drive a few different ones and see what you prefer. There's no wrong answer.

Went to test the 997.2 TTS today. Very well maintained with beautiful black/cream interior still 90% new. I have the say the car aged very very well. Very sexy in GT silver with Black RS wheels and PCCB. It is very very fast and even a bit scary even in normal road during our mountain ride. There were 10 997.2 TTS imported here and this was the last one (2013 1st register). Feels quite a special car. Interior definitely felt dated (compare to my Macan GTS). The Carbon covered engine looks very cool. Overall, I have to say I like it.
Now, I am trying to get the 991 GTS (turns out it is a 4 GTS) tested soon too. I tested teh 991.2 S before, to me, very refine and luxurious but a bit less 'exciting'. Maybe I need the GTS trim.
For now, I will not consider the normal 991 S given I don't get too excited about it.
One big factor still is the GTS is about 20% more. I think running cost will be similar given both cars are still under warranty and schedule service is the same cost here from dealer. Tough to decide

Three Wheelin'
Having driven both S and GTS in .1 and .2 varieties, manual and PDK, differences are relatively small on the street. Can you tell the differences? Sure. Does GTS make you go wow compared to the S? No way. I’d buy the one that fits the right spec you want. I also like to mod my cars a bit which makes the S a better choice for me because the S with the mods I like = price of GTS.

I think the OP is asking 997TTS vs 991.1CS or GTS. To me it is all about the engine choice. two completely different type of cars/experience. There is no wrong choice here.
I had a 997 CS and a 991.1 CS and a 991.1 GTS and now a 991.1 TTS. I've driven 997 TTS as well.
If you like NA engine, revs and it's sound by all means the 991.1 GTS is your best choice short of 991.2 GT3. If you like Turbo power and pull, than 997 TTS is the way to go.
All the rest (styling, interior design, gadgets, etc.) is secondary IMO.
