Was wondering if anyone had information on the difference between 991.1 and 991.2 PDK shifting points? Especially in Sport Plus. I was very surprised to find out that in a 991.2 when using Sport Plus the PDK shifts automatically. Thanks in advance.

While I don't have exact info on shifting points, I can tell you that the 991.2 PDK is slightly refined in a good way. It's a little smoother and crispier. The big torque provided from the engine allows the 991.2 PDK to have certain slippage and mimic different gear ratios.. Sorcery type of thing. My 991.1 C4S was noticeably lazier than my 991.2 GTS in terms of shifting. The 991.1 had a stronger feeling "kick" when shifting at redline in sport plus. At times this "kick" felt kind of like a lazy roll into the following gear... 991.2 GTS feels more like a quick surgical "snap" into each gear. Not so easy to put in words on a forum without being in the car.
Sport Plus in a .2 can shift prior to redline depending on throttle input unlike the 991.1 which goes all the way to redline. It still does not make an enjoyable drive in "D" on the streets IMO. If you're not on the track/racing, always use manual shifting in Sport Plus mode.

My experience is this: In my 991.1 4S, Sport + would only shift near redline with maybe the exception on first gear where it might go early when not at WOT. In my 991.2 4S, Sport+ is much more dynamic. At WOT, it'll be at redline, but when you are not it seems to shift between 4k-5k.
