Your dealer will NOT have the 5W50. You'll need to had-carry. The 5W50 and 5W40 are not for single digit weather.

It's not super often but does happen , I drive less than 6k a year on the 911 so I guess I'll stick with 0w 40 then, thanks!

Yes. It's an A40 Porshe approved oil.

Car won't be coming North again.
Congrats and an early welcome to FL and 5/50.

Okay, will switch to the 5W50 M1 at the next oil change in 2 wks, the coldest it gets here is 38-40 and that’s only over night a couple days in the dead of winter.

Why not just use the 5W-40 that Porsche recommends for warmer climates or 0W-40 for cold? I don't remember ever seeing anything else for newer Porsches.

I got my M1 5w50 oil in and brake flushing equipment, just waiting for oil filter kit and brake fluid from Suncoast, should be here next week, next weekend is oil change and brake fluid flush. I am fine doing the oil and filter change, did it last time. Brake fluid flush scares me a little but I am gonna do it. I am sure I’ll have questions for the Hive, lol.

Those that drive Porsches as a status symbol and need to be seen driving one all the time. That or they are so broke or in debt they cannot afford a daily driver.

I never saw the point to driving any performance car in the winter where you can't even remotely use the performance capabilities of the car on cold pavement or in deep snow. Its why I have a daily driver SUV. Besides the manufacturers of the factory tires clearly indicate that they useless even at just above freezing.
