On the 9A1 neither the lift nor the timming solenoids requiere any locking.

​​​​​​Ok. Wow. That's great to hear. I've gotten myself wrapped around the axle about this. When my local independent pulled the book times they thought Porsche was asking for 18 hours to R&R engine out and special locking tool to do the solenoid on top of the head (lift solenoid I believe). They did however not seem too confident on that prognosis. Lol.
