Powerkit versus aftermarket or OEM turbos

So, I havent even completed my Cobb tune (Base C2) but am pointing down the road to larger turbos.
It seems that the powerkit that suncoast sells is cheaper than buy9ing GTS turbos. Odd.
Also, there has been discussion of 3rd party turbos becoming available, but has anyone gone this route?
I have a buddy with a 458 and I want to walk him. We havent lined up yet. I want him to be shocked. Stupid ferrari. Lol.
Everything Ive seen suggests that my car will be about as fast as a stock 991.1 TTS and if I recall, every drag ive watched has the TTS beating the 458. One must have goals...

Hello fellow base owner! ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'd suggest going the route of cats, headers, exhaust, stage 2 tune etc prior to monkeying around with the turbos etc. You will definitely give him a solid run for his money and then some with that setup.
There are larger turbos available, but doesn't seem to be widely adopted... yet. I'm sure, as with any platform, we'll start seeing more and more in the future. For what it's worth, Cobb released their Stage 2 tune maybe 6 months ago +/-? I believe user txgold is working with Pure, and has provided some snapshots of performance; it's delicious!

458 traps around 134mph in the 1/4 mile stock. Plenty fast-you can get there but you will need all the bolt ons and a pro tune to be competitive. I dont think the stock base turbos will put that power out there though (should max around 470ish whp)...which may not be enough to take him on even with all the bolt ons (but it may be close). I would do all the bolt ons and tune first and see where you are at-you may be surprised!

Going by the times on here:
https://fastestlaps.com/models/ferrari-458-italia
Of course it depends on the driver and track conditions as well.

TXGold have gone full aftermarket turbos, Tial, and with protomotive tune and other aftermarket parts. His car is very fast but it is not cheap
what is your goal and budget?
I have 4000 miles with my HEX tune from VF engineering. Soul cats. Zero issues and great reliability which I what I wanted.
