I just got my 17 C4S back with water pump # 3 and have noticed that when I plant my foot, I get a distinct air swishing noise (think smoother version of highway wind noise) vs the normal turbo whining. Boost pressure still shows on the gauge, but not getting as much umph as normally do. I'm guessing they failed to connect a turbo vacuum line or something similar when they put the motor back together post water pump replacement. Anybody ever hear of something like this ?

My local dealer just replaced my water pump and I had the same issue you are having. Took it back to the dealer and they found out that a clamp had not been tightened in the acceleration body and because of that it was sucking more air (hence the noise). Easy fix in my case.
