I personally can’t imagine a leak, unless there is a crack somewhere, since these cats were a perfect fit.
Did you find any loose bolts and is the “whoosh” still there?

No & yes. The Indy shop mechanic was just as OCD as me and did an excellent job. I don't know about your "whoosh" but mine is definitely the more pronounced "turbos whoosh" due to aftermarket headers and cats.

Driving my car last night on the freeway I floor it and noticed quite a loud vacuum type sound from the engine. Didn't notice it before the tune(only drove for a day with cats and no tune) but I doubt it has anything to do with the sport cats. I suspect the indy shop may have left something disconnected when installing the air filters.

Definitely have them check it out then. My music is turned up most of the time and I'm half deaf so I got that going for me.

Everything in front of the turbo compressor inlets is under vacuum and there is a lot of duct work between the compressor inlets and the air filter. So not a bad hypothesis something is loose between the two. The car runs on a MAP and not MAF system, so wouldn't see any error codes with this type of issue.

Thanks, Def taking it back to check.

Hey eysa, let us know how everything turns out. Rechecking the clamps is never a bad thing. Did you upgrade your filters too? That can add increase the intake note on these cars.

Can you post a video with the sound you are concerned about?
The guys at Soul are super helpful. I'm sure they could take a listen and tell you what they think as well as the rest of us with Soul systems that are used to hearing ours.

I am sure John will respond from Soul but the "hissing" you hear is the turbo spool. It is normal and I absolutely love it. The car just sounds awesome with the Sport Cats.

This is a 2019 Targa 4 GTS. I have about 1,000 miles on the Soul Sport Cats.

EDIT -- just read some additional and more recent posts. The poster who said the Sport Cats added a "whistle" is spot on. The "normal" sound should be more of a turbo spool "whistle" than a hissing noise. Hope this helps but I suspect that unless your installer did something wrong what you are hearing is NORMAL in a non-tuned car. Of course, your tune may be affecting all of this and connecting with a pro tuner shop is not a bad idea.

This is what my 2019 911 GTS sounds like from the interior. They go WOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I also noticed that off throttle HUMMMMMMMMM in SPORT PLUS reverberates MUCH less inside . Its the only part of the sport cats combo that actually sounds quieter to me. That HUM sound is much different than before.

Eysa,

Like Mike chimed in, we're here to help in any way we can. Sport Cats and BMC Filters unleash a lot of new experiences with engine noise. As we are not able to hear it in person we aren't quite sure if what you are hearing is normal or not, but it could very well be. These cars are pretty picky, if anything is out of whack like a vacuum leak it'll typically throw a CEL. That said, if there is anything we can do to help you or your shop please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm always open for a chat, sometimes hearing people describe something on the phone comes across better that text on a computer haha. My cell is 484 883 6197, give me a text/call any time

Regards,
John Gaydos

Thank you. It certainly dives a lot different that my 2017 911 S did. It just keeps going and going and going...lol.
