Default Bought my second Porsche today, my first was in 1983!

My first Porsche:

I was young and single, life was full of adventure!

Since then, I got married, we raised two kids (who are now grown and gone), had an enviable career, but retired early, moved around a bit, and generally enjoyed life.

I had a string of sedans, several 5 series BMW's and a couple nice Mercedes E class sedans, but I always thought back to how much I liked the Porsche.

So after looking for a few months:

This got delivered into my driveway this morning ( at 5:30AM!)

I washed her, slapped a coat of wax and took her our for an inaugural spin:

I already bought the ultimate cup holder, and the silly carbon fiber key fob covers - now deciding on what's next - tint for sure, maybe PFF......

Ahh, the places you'll go.....

Great story and nice to see another (myself included) that had a Porsche or two in the past come back to a 991.

Clear led side markers are a good painless choice. Great car, safe driving.

Congrats! I had a red 944 in my car history, too. That was fun but the 991 is WAY more fun.

That's a long wait between P cars. At this rate you'll be due again in 2055.

Your new one is fabulous. My first was a 911T in 1971. My second is a 2019 991.2 C2 received in December 2018. Both black, both MT, both terrific cars--admittedly, at my age memories of 1971 may not be the most accurate. ;-) But for sure the new one is so very good!

God bless,
TT

Congratulations! Beautiful car! Although I don’t know how you had the willpower to wash and wax before taking her out for the first drive! 😊

My first Porsche was purchased in 1975, a used 1970 911E. It has 28K miles on it, and I drove it to 232,000 miles. I was 23 years old and in college.

I'm on my 5th 911 now, as a man of 65 years of age. 24K miles on it and who knows, there might even be a 6th one in my future. I've had BMW's / Audis / Mercs / even Aston Martin. I come back to Porsche.

When I bought my new C7 Vette in 2014 I was asked if it was my first Corvette. My response was "no I bought one 52 years ago", it was a 1962.

My first Vette--my first car-- was also a '62, purchased new, the last of the C1s. We were blessed to have those cars back then. Glad I discovered Porsche 10 years later, though, and rediscovered it last year, nearly 50 years after my first 911. Are you still driving manual transmissions?

God bless,
TT

Tom, no I’m loving my PDK. My GTS is the most fun car I have owned. I bought it just after my 75th and I’ve put 5k miles on it since Nov.
